Meet Kristine and Josh, another great couple that we had a fabulous time with during all of their sessions. Kristine got ready at a beautiful suite at the The Westin Key West Resort & Marina that overlooked the Key West Harbor. We had so much fun during her getting ready coverage, as her sister and mother watched in anticipation as Kristine stepped into her dress. After Kristine was zipped in her dress, we headed down to meet up with Josh to capture the couples amazing first look. It was precious and sweet! After a heartfelt first look, the couple was transported via Keys Limo to Fort Zachary Taylor where their beach reception was to take place. With the guests seated and Josh in place a beautiful Kristine was escorted by her father to her beachside ceremony. With beautiful weather, location and a great couple, this ceremony was absolutely perfect. After Rev. Steve Torrence delivered some great vows and the ceremony concluded, we headed back to the Westin’s Sunset Deck, where a beautiful sunset reception was held at The Key West Westin Resort and Marina. After a graceful first dance, we grabbed the couple and headed to capture some fabulous Key West sunset shots. We headed back to the Sunset Deck at the Westin for some fun dancing, the couple cut their cake and their guest enjoyed a take away cupcake courtesy of Key West Cakes. As the night concluded, the couple gathered their guest and headed to the bar to enjoy shots for everyone. We loved the energy, that the bartender created as he poured shots across the bar for all to enjoy.
Wishing you guys all the best!

Meet Lindsay and Mike! Lindsay and Mike had an amazing wedding aboard the Fury. It docked right in front of the Westin Resort and Marina {which I loved}. The couple was able to have a first look right in front of the Westin and then they were able to get whisked away by the Fury. Kristin from Swankey Events joined us for the sail to take care of anything and everything if needed…while Megan from Swankey Events stayed behind to finish getting everything ready for the reception. After we departed from the dock and everyone settled in we had the ceremony. The Gulf of Mexico gave us a nice breeze and a perfect backdrop! The Fury staff did an amazing job! Westy, the Fury Captain and his crew made the sailing experience for all the guests a fabulous one! THANKS FURY! After the ceremony we hung out on the ocean for just a little bit and then we came back to the Westin Resort and Marina for a reception. Peter from Milan Event, Team Swankey and Erin from the Westin greeted us to a fabulous set-up on the pier and just in time for their sunset which is simply A-MAZ-ING from the Westin Resort and Marina. After some toasts and a delicious dinner everyone hit the dance floor and partied the night away. Thanks Jimmy V for the musical beats!

SJ says: Love…no words!

SJ says: Becca captivating eyes!
Why did you pick your wedding location?
We picked Key West because it is our favorite vacation destination, a little slice of heaven. The Westin was a perfect spot to enjoy the sunset and all of the street performers during our wedding. How many people have cat man on the pier at their wedding?!
Tell us about your bridezilla moment if you had one! Is it funny now?
My father thought getting a professional photographer and DJ were “excessive”… afterall he has an ipod and a digital camera. That was the only wedding moment that resulted in tears, but we ended up with an amazing photographer and DJ and wouldn’t change a thing!
What attracted you to Studio Julie Photography?
After stalking the blog I was amazed at how Julie managed to capture each couples personality. I knew we did not want a photographer that did cookie cutter posed pictures, and after our first conversation with Julie we knew that was not her style either.
What was your first impression of Studio Julie {right when the shooting began}?
Thank God we choose Studio Julie! Having someone to chat and laugh with before the wedding put me at ease.
What photography advice would you give to other brides?
Make sure you love your photographers style AND personality, it will make your day truly enjoyable!
What did you enjoy them clicking the most?
Our trash the dress session was amazing. They picked great locations I would have never thought photographed well and they turned out to be my favorite photos. Definitely trust their judgment!
What is something you would change about your wedding if you could flashback?
No.
Did you have a 1st Look?
We did not and I am happy we didn’t, I will never forget the looks on Max’s face when he saw me walking down the aisle. Thanks to the amazing creativity of Julie we did have a few photos together before the wedding (on separate balconies) so we had the best of both worlds.
Did you do an Afterthoughts session?
YES and I highly recommend them! The TTD session let us be completely free with none of the wedding day stress. The TTD pictures are among my favorites and we had a blast during the shoot.
Any other advice or anything you learned now that you are a pro? Retro Bride TALK:
Don’t sweat the small stuff, everything will work out and a stress free bride is a happy bride.
Bride’s FAV Images:

Becca says: One of my personal favorite of the boys before the ceremony, they look quite dashing if I so say do myself.

Becca says: I am so thankful we were able to get a pre-ceremony shot together without actually seeing each other.

Becca says: This shot of Max trying not to tear up is precious, for the record he lost a contact lens right after this was taken. Thankfully one of our friends ran back to the hotel to get him new contacts so he could see during the reception.

Becca says: I love all of the details you can see in this photo, the beautiful scenery is one of the reason we both love Key West so much.
Becca says: This picture embodies Max perfectly, he is always up for fun and never too serious.

Becca says: Julie was so excited for this picture and I absolutely love it! We visited the poor elephant last year and he no longer has a trunk or hands, I am glad we got to this spot before he was totally destroyed.

Becca says: I highly recommend a trash the dress session to all brides! This is hands down one of my favorite photos from the wedding weekend. My friends thought this was photo shopped, but I assure you we waded out into the water and climbed up the pillars. For the records my dress was spotless after it was cleaned despite what we put it through.
Anymore Questions to Becca or Studio Julie about Becca’s wedding or experience feel free to ask them in the comment box or email Studio Julie. THANKS! And THANKS BECCA!
