Eric & Carrie, Indianapolis Wedding

Hello again! Everyone this is Eric & Carrie, E&C this is everyone! : ) We had a great time with these two and they had a beautiful wedding at the Omni Severin in downtown Indianapolis. So… let’s get to the photos shall we? : )
O.K., so we’ve had a lucky streak of couples seeing each other before the ceremony. I say lucky because we always catch some great emotions. I won’t name names, but we’ve seen the guys tear up, have a non-stop smile or just be completely stunned when they see their brides for the first time. This time was no exception. : )
We still just LOVE this shot!! : )
Eric & Carrie set aside plenty of time to go have some fun downtown on the circle with their wedding party. : )

Jen and Ace had an amazing wedding, the weather was perfect, everything tied in to their very unique themed Americana BBQ style wedding event. Jen, designed the invitations and the theme of the wedding and everything was truly perfect, and delicious food made on site by Chuck himself from Chucks BBQ was unbeatable. I started the day with Jen, and my fabulous assistant Christina started the day with Ace, we did preparation and detail shots before heading to the church for the ceremony. From there we headed to one of my favorite south suburb locations, Lake Katherine for family and wedding party photos before cocktail hour began. Lake Katherine is an wonderful place for photos, it is so pretty and well kept. Altho it was hot, the wedding party was so wonderful and didn’t complain at all, we had a blast taking photos before heading to the party. All the detail of the event made the theme a classy, but down to earth wedding. Lots of dancing, and amazing balcony with breathtaking views of the lake….it was a such a great wedding event. Thank you Jen and Ace for letting me document your special day!! Congratulations!!!!

Two reasons for this post– the first is that I’m often asked if I have experience shooting Indian weddings. Yes, yes I do. I have shot a fair number now, over the last couple of years, with my friend Amish Solanki and will be blogging them at some point soon. I am over-busy in the summer, but because he shoots Indian weddings, I make sure we can arrange to shoot together for at least a few dates. In this case, when my friend Kristel Wyman told me that she needed a second shooter for an Indian wedding last April, I signed up, despite leaving bright and early for Mexico the next morning.
The second reason for this post is that I almost always start the wedding day by photographing the bride’s getting ready and even have a tendency throughout the day to showcase her. I was a little nervous, therefore, going to shoot the groom’s prep. I’m so glad I got the chance to do it, though, and was glad to see the full process of tying a turban. I’ve included a few more shots from the rest of the day here, but have tried to keep it a ‘groomcentric’ collection and check my impulses to feature the bride.

Jennifer and Joseph were married on July 16, 2010 in the beautiful gardens of Meson Sabika in downtown Naperville. We started the day off with wedding party and family photos in the near by DT Naperville as well as the fantastic gardens of Meson Sabika. As afternoon approached the wedding party prepared for the Ceremony, which was stunning, back lit by a warm glow of afternoon sunshine. Immediately following the ceremony was a cocktail hour, everyone was enjoying themselves and the delicious tapas being served. As dinner time approached, there were many great toasts, a beautiful cake was cut and then the party really began…and this bunch was filling the dance floor all night long. I had such an amazing time documenting Jen and Joe’s wedding day, and I have so many favorites images, here are a few. Congratulations Jennifer and Joseph!!

I loved this wedding. It was the first time I have been able to head out to the Flying Caballos Ranch for a wedding and it was so charming…. I want to just move out of my house and into this ranch. Lol. Not only is the ranch super sweet but so is this couple. I actually went to high school with the bride and my hubby has known her since way back in the days. It was an honor to say the least that she asked me to be her wedding photographer and to spend the day with them capturing all of their special moments. They did a wonderful job really making this day unique to them. The wedding took place at 10am on the porch of the ranch and they walked down the aisle together. After they said their I do’s instead of heading back down they stood at the porch steps and toasted their guests and then the guests toasted them, loved it. The day was filled with great food, lots of family and some awesome music performed by Matt Cross and the One Night Band.

I’m running out the door to leave for Green Bay to shoot a wedding this weekend but I wanted to quick get this GORGEOUS wedding posted! I’m pretty sure Michael and Amelia are on their honey moon but at least this will give them something exciting to come home too 
YOU GUYS ROCK! I had so much fun at your wedding and the decorations were perfect! My two favorite things were probably like “green” decorations and the Mexican buffet!
There were 2 cakes because it was Michaels Mom’s Birthday as well!

• I love the fact that all of the guys – including Steve’s Dad – wore chucks!
• All of the members of the bridal party but 1 bridesmaid and 1 groomsman were family members! LOVE this!!!
• Melissa’s father is deceased but she honored him by carrying his picture in a locket which was in her bouquet. Ironically, the bride the following week did the same thing to honor her deceased father. I really adore this tradition as my own father is deceased. It’s such a special and intimiate way to carry your father in your heart!
• This is one of the very few weddings this year that had low humidity and perfect temperatures! You NEVER know what you’re going to get in Ohio and it seems that this wedding season has been mostly HOT and HUMID! Melissa and Steven really lucked out the day of their wedding!
• Melissa and Steven were married at the same chapel as Melissa’s parents were – I LOVE that!
• Not a lot of text this blog b/c my allergies are kicking my bootie and my eyes are blurry and itchy making blogging really fun! LOL!
