Allison and Brian were married at the First Scots Presbyterian Church in the historic district of Charleston. I knew I would be over the moon about Alli and Brian’s wedding when we met with them in Highlands, NC for their engagement session over a year ago. Alli has a contagious smile and a heart of gold. Emily Ayer and the team of Bliss Event Group designed the wedding and everything from the floral, linen, branding, lighting, cigar rolling and tears of joy proved it to be a great success!

so i’ve been an etsy fan lately. well i’ve always been a fan, but i’ve been skimming through the site and “pinning” my favorite ideas and i came across THIS idea! i’ve been needing some wall decor for the kitchen and thought this would look CAHHute in a white mat and 8×10 frame! on the etsy website, just to get a print of this puppy was $25 (not including shipping) and then add in the cost of the frame! probably would’ve run me close to $40. so for about a week now, i’ve been brainstorming what i could to make this! i had some left over credit on a vector website (from the business) and purchased the state of maine illustrator file. made it all white, saved it and then re-opened in photo-shop and change colors and added the heart (a free FONT i downloaded). i wanted it simple, but of course i had to write out maine. cute?! now printing. i would print it off at home, except it would take 100 gallons of ink and that stuff is expensive! so i’m going to print it at staples for .59 tomorrow and buy a cheapo frame & mat and hang it up in the kitchen! my budget is no more then $10, so i’m saving $30 bucks! cheya!

i’ll hopefully have a second tomorrow to print and get the materials and i’ll take a picture! my husband is still talking about moving out to the mid-west..and if God decides to open doors in the future, i’ll def. be hanging this up in my kitchen! there’s no place like home

in all this took me 1 hour to make. don’t judge..i’m no illustrator expert. actually when i took the class in college, i cringed at the idea of illustrator every time the professor mentioned or made us work in it! yuck!

i went with browns, because my kitchen is rustic maine theme. you know.. bears, moose and rustic wood.

All this beautiful weather, along with meeting with Brides, and finishing up the wedding show season, has made me excited for our upcoming year.

So I thought I would go back and blog about some of the weddings from 2011 that I did not have a chance to post.

This is Amanda & Dustin. Such a great couple. They were so great to work with all through their day.

It was hot out, so we finished the day in the fountain at Galt Gardens. Such a fun Group!

Important announcement

As many of you know, my Dad has lived with us for the past two years and has been in and out of the hospital pretty much my entire life. He left this world peacefully, in his sleep, here at home, surrounded by love yesterday, January 31, 2012. I will be taking some time off to mourn and am not sure yet how long I will need. I am hoping that by next week I will be up to returning calls and e-mails but I appreciate your patience and understanding.

Kelli, Jason & Houser

I told Kelli that we had the BEST TIME EVER with her, Jason and Houser. Jason had us in stitches the whole time and Houser had me on the run the whole time. I would have never known he was 9 years old, he played like a puppy chasing his toys and sticks for a solid hour. By the end of the session I was covered in slobber. Jason told me “the smell grows on you, but if you don’t wash it off, something really may grow on you!” Some of you may know Kelli as the wedding coordinator for Alys Beach. She and Jason are going to be married there next month. Congratulations, Kelli, I am so happy for you!
