Meet Erin & Nate. Please don’t confuse them with Erin & Pat, because Erin & Nate were bridesmaid/groomsman in Erin & Pat’s wedding. :) They are getting married at the Minnesota Science Museum next year, and I can’t wait! Since they went to school at University of Wisconsin – La Crosse, we met in La Crosse for their engagement photos. If you’ve spent any amount of time in La Crosse, you may recognize this first location as a favorite hangout. It’s The Bodega.
They brought some white boards for a fun “Save the Date” idea. But we also used them for something else… I asked them to write down one thing they loved about each other. I loved this whole series of photos. :)
Apparently, Erin’s sense of humor is every bit as corny as mine. A little bird told me she loves this joke:
“Where does the president keep his armies?”
Answer: “Up his sleevies”. Hahahaha.
Earlier in the day, we stopped at The Pearl for fun candy. Introducing: candy mustache and candy lips.

So the other day when we saw The Pearl for the first time, we made plans with Tasha and Lauren of Virtuous Events to do a shoot as soon as possible before the renovations take away the last of the peeling paint. I spoke to Beth later that day and she said she would come out and bring her wedding dress! This shoot was planned in a matter of 3 days and it was ALOT of fun! I would like to thank Lauren and Tasha for bringing the flowers and some great ideas, and Beth for being amazing and fearless! So here are a few of the photos that I shot, check out the photos Chris shot HERE! His are COMPLETELY different, so you will definitely want to see them!
First up a little behind the scenes!
I am in love with this wall of old newspaper!!! The dates ranged from 1922-1931!
It has been buried behind something for who knows how long…

We are SO VERY excited about the new venue opening in Michigan City this year! If you are familiar with Michigan City you may recognize this building:
It’s the old Canterbury! Though its new name will be The Pearl.
They have already don a TON of work in there, and there is still alot to do, ignore the basketball hoop:)
Imagine a cocktail hour going on in this courtyard!

Some details of the construction. This building has been vacant for MANY years and dates back to 1867!
They removed a wall to find this amazing newspaper being used as wallpaper. I want to get in there and take more detailed photos of this wall!
We will be doing more photos of their progress with this amazing venue. I cant wait to see it in action!!
