Claudia, the most gorgeous mama ever makes this San Francisco maternity portrait session our favorite so far hands down! When she first contacted the studio, she intrigued me by specifically asking for something fun and modern, and something different from the normal maternity portraits you see around. She wanted something with lots of color and texture. In talking to this fashionable and cheery mom to be, I knew for sure that shooting around North Beach in San Francisco was the perfect spot for her.
We started in their downtown home where the light was just perfect at some spots. Jeff, Claudia’s husband and dad to be was also around for the portrait session and to play assistant to mama! I’d have to say that Jeff kept us laughing all day long with his great sense of humor. In fact, they even named the little baby bump Monkey for now!
These next two are my favorite of Claudia! She looks so gorgeous and so radiant! Which mama to be would not love to have beautiful maternity portraits? And have I mentioned how much I love her handpainted walls?! Gorgeous! The right photo was the sneak peek maternity session photo I blogged about not long ago. Instantly love!
It was a gorgeous day out and we finally headed outdoors. Claudia specifically wanted photos that weren’t all bare belly. We even discussed outfits choices. And I love her cute little outfit that she ended up with! The pink top and jeans really show how fashionable and chic she is! It’s just so adorable that she purchased the pink top specifically for this shoot! And of course, heels are a must!
Something different for a modern and urban maternity portrait session in San Francisco! Lots of color, love them!
We also ended up with a beautiful portrait album for Claudia and Jeff that I will soon share in another blog post. And last not least, I have to wish them a big Congratulations as not long after our shoot, Claudia gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, Oliver! Now there’s officially 3 in the cute little family! Congrats Claudia and Jeff and we can’t wait to see Oliver!

How awesome are these San Francisco maternity photos? Cousins and best friends, Stephanie and Rosemarie, were pregnant together and both had girls within three days of each-other! We are a bit late in blogging these, but we love them still anyhow! We headed to the hills and beaches of San Francisco to photograph this cute duo maternity session. Stephanie and Rosemarie were too cute! And with husbands in tow, made the perfect quartet. We especially love the beach maternity photos. So fun!
We have been doing quite a few maternity sessions lately and we are having a blast. So many beautiful mama’s to be. Remember that if you are looking to do your maternity session, you should be scheduling it right around the 7 months mark! This way you still look cute and are still pretty much mobile and agile! And think of all the cute maternity outfits you can wear!

We love it when our clients work with us to produce a truly spectacular shoot. Angie had a vision and came to us with a nature inspired maternity session in mind. Little did she know that they will be ending up in the river! The day was absolutely perfect and we headed straight to the river after we met in the studio to coordinate and style Angie and Greg’s outfits for the looks we were going for. The colors all worked together so well! And I truly love the warm and embracing shots we started out with. Just a bump and two people in love in the middle of nature! My favorite shot of the day: the last one of them kissing in the water of course!
A modern maternity shot! Love it!
Love all the colors in Angie’s scarf that she wore as a wrap! And the belly is way too cute!
Did Greg listen when we told him to fake splash Angie with water? Of course not! Angie was a great sport anyhow though!
These two images make my heart sing, what’s cuter than soaking your feet in the river for a maternity session?
