We know we don’t say it much, but we would like to thank you all for your love and support on this blog, through your phone calls,  emails and your comments. YOU are the fire that keeps our passion for photography burning and at the risk of sounding cliche, we just want to let you know that your love inspires us to become better photographers, better people and a keeps us falling in love with one another. There isn’t a single wedding or family gathering we photograph that doesn’t move us. Sometimes its in the words of a speech and other times it can be something as small as a glance between lovers. We have always felt lucky that photography chose us, and we feel that its our duty to capture the lives of others as artistically and as candidly as we possibly can. Each time we pick up our cameras it is like we are in one of those feel good romantic movies like Love Actually, or The Notebook, serious at times, but filled with anticipation, happy tears and lots of laughter. It is an honour to watch your moments unfold and it is our absolute pleasure to photograph YOU.

Ladies and gentlemen, for their second appearance on our blog (their first as for their Barrie engagement session) and their first time as Mr. & Mrs. We are so happy to share with you Kristine & Alan’s Blue Mountain wedding. We hope you are moved by these images just as much as we were creating them.

Alan is a product designer for Umbra, and he actually designed this little bird bottle opener called “Perch Bottle Opener” in the pic below, buy it here. It was their wedding favour and currently this little bird resides in our kitchen.

Lauren and Ryan’s Wedding.

Piazza in the Village is, as I’ve mentioned before, a beautiful venue. I mean, just look at the chandeliers and the upholstery on the pews. Every detail has been taken care of. But it doesn’t just look great. It feels like a wedding. Colby Callait’s “I Do” played throughout the entire building right when Lauren and her girls walked in (that’s the kind of thing us girls notice).

Lauren (and her peeps) actually did the florals (except for the bridesmaid’s bouquets) herself. Ahhh-mazing! I thought it was SP because they were so good.

There she sat on the floor, delicately painting her nails. “We’ve been doing this for the last hour,” she laughed with her Lauren-smirk that she gives.

And then there were the details. All laid out for me to photograph, and a giant open window next to them with sunlight pouring in. As if I could get any happier.

Ryan is the kind of guy that everyone likes. I mean everyone. I don’t think he could have an enemy if he tried. So of course, as he and his groomsmen got ready for one of the most exciting days of his life, there was a lot of laughter.

And handsomeness.

I wonder if he looked into the mirror before leaving the hotel, thinking that this would be how his wife would first see him today. I know something like that was going through his mind.

At the completion of each little “Getting Ready” task, there were squeals. Coming from Lauren’s sisters, and they made her scrunch her nose up and giggle every time.

She was surprisingly calm. But putting the dress on did kind-of make her heart start to race just a little bit faster.

The veil was the last piece of the puzzle.

And then, before she had a chance to get nervous, it was time to see Ryan.

She came down the aisle toward him with the hugest grin glued to her face. When she got to him, she tapped him on the shoulder and he turned around and saw her. He stared. And his eyes filled up with tears.

Seeing your Wife for the first time on your wedding day will do that to you.

They exchanged gifts and talked and smiled and mostly just beamed at each other. Happily.

Here are some of my favorite “Bride and Groom” pictures from the day, which we call “Romantics”. Getting 30 minutes set aside for these = THE BEST THING EVER FOR PICTURES (i.e. Best Case Scenario). Because now they have a different Bride-and-Groom picture for every wall of their house. When you’re a newlywed, you tend to have empty walls that need decoration, so I am here to fill that void.

This must be included for Ryan’s sake.

I hope Lauren felt as beautiful as she looked. Because she looked amazing. And most of all, like herself. But bridal.

You knew this was coming.

As the time for the ceremony got closer, the wedding party had to be hidden away from the guests. This was a perfect opportunity for Lauren to take her shoes off and enjoy a glass of champagne. After all, she’s a barefoot kind of girl.

Watching the guests as they arrived felt exciting, but also kind-of intriguing. Since they didn’t know they were being watched, it was kiiiind-of like spying. Being the bride has its perks. Heeeheee….

One last powder of the nose…

…And a prayer over their marriage.

The guys had the same thought.

Some more wedding pretties.

And some Piazza-ness.

Lauren and her Dad watched everyone go down the aisle together.

When she walked down the aisle toward him, this time for real, his face showed his emotions just like it had before. Even with a couple-hundred extra people in the room, he was completely overwhelmed by the sincerity of this moment.

And he couldn’t hide his love.

A shared smile between the two of them. I wonder if they had any secret hand-squeezes while they were up there.

This is how every girl feels, I think, when she realizes she is married. Ryan’s over there, taking a deep breath and walking back all “manly-like”. Leading his wife like a good husband should. And Lauren’s face completely reveals her giddiness.

Once outside the chapel, the celebrating and crying begins. Lauren and her sister have a moment.

The room soars with relief and happiness and exhaustion and beauty all at once.

I would say that the photo booth was fabulous, but then I’d be patting myself on the back.

Here’s the thing about Ryan. He makes her happier than she’s ever been. This is according to her sisters and parents, so we know it’s true.

And she is his perfect Other Half.

He feels incomplete without her boisterous laugh and excitement for life.

Also: they share the same sense of humor. Can you tell?

Sis recounts all of the ways she looks up to her Lauren. And what she thought when Lauren first brought Ryan home.

And how she knew he was the one she’d marry.

There were several sweet Father-Daughter moments in their dance, so I left them all in :).

Candlelight was a big part of their wedding. They wanted the room to have a really pretty twinkle and glow. Mission completed.

Their first time to use their new titles together was in our photo booth. I am honored.

The evening ended in a casual flurry of bubbles and laughter. Just like the rest of their lives will be.

Lauren and Ryan: Congratulations on your beautiful wedding and your even more beautiful relationship with each other. Your love is so evident, and it has this maturity about it that not everyone can say they’ve had when they got married. You both truly know the other inside and out, and there is so much to be said for that. Best of all, you know how to laugh together and how to be there for one another. Will and I have LOVED getting to know both of you and your families and friends, and being there on your wedding day was a huge honor to us. Thank you so much for including us in your day, and we hope that every day from here on out is filled with as much love as you felt at your wedding. And a Happy Marriage to you both!
