Amanda and Alonso married last November outdoors at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna, Virginia and we were thrilled to be able to photograph their wedding! A while ago we posted Part 1 of Amanda and Alonso’s wedding, so if you haven’t seen it yet you should go check that out. In this post we’re showing off their sweet ceremony.
When Amanda and I started talking about their wedding, one of the things she said they wanted to make sure of was to they celebrate both Christian and Jewish religions, so you’ll see a little of both in their photos.

I love popular fall wedding details like red and orange, but I love that Amanda and Alonso mixed it up with turquoise and purple and white. And the three vases of sand will make sense in a bit.

Since it was quite chilly out, guests enjoyed hot chocolate and apple cider before the ceremony started. Meanwhile, the ladies were enjoying the last few minutes before the ceremony.

I just love Amanda’s bouquet.

The flower girls were so cute; and Amanda looks so happy!

As you can tell, Amanda and Alonso’s ceremony was full of joy and laughter. Right before Amanda’s father walked her down the aisle she was super nervous and asked her dad to tell a joke, which he didn’t. He must have been a little nervous himself, because when he gave her away he accidentally answered “my mother and I,” quickly followed by “no, wait, my mom’s dead. Can we do that again?” Everyone laughed. I’m pretty sure that set the relaxed vibe for the rest of their ceremony.

The heat lamps were a last minute addition once they found out it was supposed to be quite chilly. It’s just one of many reminders of how many details have to be figured out for a wedding.

I love that Amanda and Alonso included Alonso’s daughter in the sand ceremony. Of course they couldn’t leave out breaking the glass. And then I just love the first kiss picture Chris got – the gorgeous colors, the smiling groomsmen, the onlooking adorable flowergirl, and a guest taking a picture – I think he got just about everything.
Amanda and Alonso, you had a beautiful (if chilly) outdoor wedding ceremony last fall. It was perfectly you. I can’t wait to show off your reception soon!

October 24, 2009 — what a perfect day for a wedding! We arrived at the Church early Saturday morning to capture some awesome images of Ester getting ready. We absolutely loved Ester’s dress — it was so unique! This was not any ordinary wedding dress. This gorgeous satin dress with a cathedral train had dashes of tea rose pink on the entire length of the train and in a band framed with crystal beading. The bridesmaid’s dresses were also very lovely being a fitted navy blue strapless gown with a fuschia sash that draped down the back. Gorgeous wedding dresses like this one make it easy to be a wedding photographer.
The ceremony was very beautiful. One of our favorite parts was the surprise vow renewal that Ester did for her parents! It was so incredibly sweet that there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. David and Ester are truly a couple in love who couldn’t stop gazing into each other’s eyes. It was such a pleasure to be able to capture the life-long bonds between family and to see the creation of a new one.
Next came the wedding reception! The entire Grand Ballroom was decorated in beautiful Fuschia and Navy tablecloths with equally elegant lighting. We know one thing for sure, and that’s that David and Ester’s family loves them a great deal! Ester’s brother was constantly surprising everyone with his smooth moves. First when the bridal party was anounced, next he sang for his sister as a toast and last as a random dance in which Ester also surprised everyone and joined in. And David and his Mom brought some emotion to the moment with the mother-son dance and ending with the entire family in a huddle on the dance floor. What a blast everything was!
David and Ester — we want to thank you for being such an awesome couple! Your wedding day was fun and you made it so easy for us being such a photogenic pair! The love and respect between both of you is clearly evident in the way you treat each other. We hope you enjoy a long and happy life together.
We hope you enjoy the slideshow!
