Please excuse this interruption from our normally scheduled Wednesday Airwaves. Instead I’ll be informing you of Friday nights upcoming TuneFEST! What’s this? Who am I seeing? The one and only G LOVE at the Variety Playhouse! Hands down the G is one of my favorite all time artist. He’s no flavor of the week {but if he was he’d be peanut butter chocolate, only because it’s the tops in my book}! A little history for ya:
Picture a 15 year old me, a basement, and Chad Weyrich. Face it- basements and teenagers usually mean trouble. But not this time! My good buddy Chad lived up the street and not only was he a great pal to have at the bus stop but he introduced me to G LOVE. Speakers up loud, “Baby’s Got Sauce” blared- and I was hooked. {Believe me- this was a treat considering he usually plagued my ears with the screaming sensations of metallica}
Years later I’m still a junkie. The countdown has begun and Friday night I’ll be standing in my momma’s spot at the Variety! The V. Playhouse is just a block from our home and one of her favorite venues. Live music and mom just go together. In fact she used to frequent so much, my stepdad would walk her there, drop her off with a few bucks for a beverage, let her find her knitch in the crowd, enjoy, and then walk to pick her up. Maybe it’s in our blood:) For years I lived in an area where good live music was nil, nada, zilch. Now being back in home sweet home Hot-lanta, the addiction has been revived!

It’s a new year and a brand spanking new journey begins. My fingers are crossed that the unpredictability of 2012 brings lots changes and challenges that resemble “love pats”. You know playful , funny taps on the bootie that might sting a little, but remind you you’re alive! {see exhibit A}
However- I’m no dummy.I’m sure there are going to be a few whoppers that will feel as though they resemble the freshman hazing scene in Dazed and Confused {see exhibit b}. If your not familiar with the flick and to save you from the embarrassment of googling “spanking”, {which you definitely should not do while at work or visiting with your mother} please reference the following:
Never the less we welcome the excitement and the lively shenanigans that will unfold. Wesleyann and I, {with our boys in tow} spent the wee hours of January 1rst on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. Dawning sparkly heels and sequin dresses resolutions were made. Between work and family our declarations were quite ambitious! Cheers to keeping them!

We figure the time has come for all of you to get a better peek into our world and for us to begin peeling back our layers. You know…that onion/layer analogy?! Never mind…scratch that…it’s time we start crakin’ open our many little eggs!
…so, here’s to crackin’ our first little egg full of sweet chicklets…
They say you can tell a lot about a person by the shoes they wear. Well…I’m sure the saying may ring true about the tunes they listen to!! I’m hoping our choice of tunes only means we have very eclectic taste! Today we begin a new series…wednesday’s airwaves. Doesn’t matter if we’re working, driving, running, cleaning, putting on make-up…most likely there’s some serious loud tunes filling our airwaves! Since music is a pretty staple part of our day, we figured we’d share. You’re more than welcome to laugh at us…but don’t be hatin’ on our jams!! Remember…this is you getting to know us {cue song: Getting to Know You}…
Back in our younger, cooler days we had our ways of finding out the inside and underground scoop on new artists. Now days, we’ve found another way…The Music Bed. Pure genius! Anyone looking for off the radar jams from awesome artists for websites, slideshows, videos, you name it…you totally need to hit them up!! We’re excited for all the new and exciting things they have in the works!! So…HUGE shout out to them for giving us new found addictions!

This time last year, Genya announced the arrival of her uber-mini, Miss Harper Grace. Well, here we are again almost exactly a year later with a new little hatching…Mr. Liam Beck. To say the least, my pregnancy with little Liam was unexpected and quite a whirlwind…and lets just say he made sure to keep it up with quite the arrival! Being that Brayden decided to arrive early, I knew that Liam would most likely follow in his big brother’s footsteps. However, Liam made sure it was an arrival his mother would never forget! After 2 trips to Labor and Delivery within a 12 hour period and sent home both times, I suppose Liam figured he would take his sweet time…and then as soon as I step foot through the front door back home after round 2 failed, he figured he’d cause the unexpected…and broke my water. So headed back to the hospital for the 3rd time in less than 20 hours, I at least knew it was for real this time! Expecting delivery would be the same as it was with Brayden, I figured Liam would be arriving sometime in the wee hours of the next morning {Jan. 25th}. I called Genya to let her know I was on the way to the hospital and she said to call her and she would come up to the hospital so we could watch the bachelor while I waited {we have priorities!}. Well, yet again, Liam kept up with his whirlwind antics. Barely out of the drive way and contractions hit…and hit hard! I think Jared gladly took this as his cue to pretend like he was in an episode of Speeders! Arriving at the hospital at 5:58PM, little did I know the next hour would be the craziest hour I had ever experienced…and there would be NO time for the Bachelor! The only thing I knew was that whoever the anesthesiologist on call was, better get their act together and get to my room! Liam had other plans…and a glorious epidural for mother was not in the plans! {For those who have seen the movie The Women, all that kept playing through my head was the end scene….and I was Debra Messing}! At 7:02PM on January 24th, Laim Beck quickly made his way into this big world weighing 7 pounds 2 ounces and 20.5 inches long. When the room was all quiet, I later watched the last hour of the Bachelor while holding my sweet little boy! 
Almost 3 weeks old, and Liam has been such a little blessing! Him and I however have been spending a lot of cuddle time at home since we are both unfortunately sick. I’m ready to be able to breathe again so I can sniff that intoxicating and sweet new baby smell!!!! In the mean time, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed kissing his sweet little neck rolls and cheeks. Little B adores his “baby Liam” and is constantly asking ” Momma, I hold her please?” Teaching gender neutral pronouns and potty training is next on my agenda!

So if any of you have stopped by the studio in the past week you were probably shocked to find out …we weren’t there! Don’t panic:) Big changes are in the works! Wonderful, delightful, fantastical revolutions! We {the VUE chicks} are spreading our wings and flying out of the nest! What do I mean? With a new arrival on the way {weslyann’s little liam}, tons of travel, and a year full of new endeavors, we decided to ditch the studio for our own little nest. Never the less our work days will still be filled with cupcakes, coffee, phones ringing , emails, blogging, and editing…just with a cozier digs!!!
For all of the amazing couples that we are about to work with in 2011…don’t fret:) We’re ecstatic to work with you and no part of the move will effect you guys!! P.R.O.M.I.S.E.
Stay tuned over the next couple of months…we’ll be revealing ginourmous {it’s a real word, the urban dictionary say’s so!} news!!

This weekend, Genya and I were having a {usual} heart to heart on our way home from Emily and Ben’s wedding about the future of VUE. We really are so excited and beyond humbled for what all lies ahead and the doors the Big Man upstairs has been opening for us…even though we’ve had some major bumps {and event hit some deep pot holes} along the road!
As many of you know, the last few weeks have been mayhem! Just when we start to get down, God places a blessing along the way that we weren’t expecting…and makes us smile in a BIG way! Two weeks ago we received one of the best email’s to date from Best of Wedding Photography. Sometimes Genya and I forget that a world exists outside of our day to day world and that crazy as it seems….people actually do read our {caffeinated} ramblings! We were taken back by Erik’s email and how much he actually knew about VUE and our work…even down to the details! His words were encouraging and kind beyond belief! We are now SSOOOO thrilled to be apart of Best of Wedding Photography!
Today on my way to see our Realtor about moving into our new house June 1st, my phone was blowing up with calls from Genya…only problem…it was on silent. Being persistent, she called my husband. Jared thinks he’s funny by joking around and telling me things that aren’t necessarily the truth. When we arrived {in separate cars}, he told me that Genya was freaking out on the phone because we had been chosen as a Southern Wedding Cover Finalist…I told him he was crossing the line with that joke…he’s cried wolf too many times and I’ve fallen for all of them! Well, he wasn’t kidding! So there I was standing in a parking lot squealing and jumping around like a little girl who had just won a trip to Disney World! Since we hadn’t heard anything, we just figured we weren’t in the running and agreed we wouldn’t get our hopes up….and then out of now where {or at least it was for us} God goes and does his thing and slaps us with another big blessing!! Even though we haven’t done anything yet, we are SSSOOOOOOOO stinking excited to have even been considered!! Not being very patient gals, we’re ready to get out and rock this cover shoot like no shoot we’ve shot before!! EEEKK….keep your fingers and piggy toes crossed!

Morning all…happily on my second cup of coffee, the music is blaring the “La Roux” channel on Pandora. The front door is wide open letting the sweet tunes leak down the sleepy streets of Panama City! I’m feeling mischievous today… we have a tendency to do prank calls- so our friends beware! Our best call was to Rae Leytham {one our closest photog buds}- we pretended to be a girl wanting a boudoir session for her fiance, but the catch was she wanted her dog in the pictures with her an they were going to wear matching lingerie. We’re still waiting on pay back for that one!
If I recall Pure 7 studio’s prank ed us once pretty good!
Anyhow- enough silly business and on to the point of this post. The SAVVY photographer is a great blog that serves as a inspirational haven for all things “photog”. Just like Alice falling through the rabbit hole- coffee in hand I’ve immersed my self in their entries for hours:) Amused and in awe!

Genya and I have honestly been amazed and humbled by the amount of emails from other photographers and admirers with such sweet and flattering words, as well as questions. Since we have been receiving so many, a few weeks ago, we figured we would join the band wagon and setup a formspring account for people to ask all their intriguing questions….the questions could be about anything!! As you can see…we’ve already received questions from across the board!! Go ahead, be nosy and ask away!!

So it’s been 3 weeks since Harper has made her way into our world! She’s already found her niche at the studio- and plays quit the crucial role to the business! No you won’t find her answering the phone, editing images, or even making coffee for us- but she does provided constant entertainment and smiles for her “Aunt Wesleyann” and I!
