• Sheena and Jeremy did their engagement session with me back in January and hired me to shoot their reception back home after getting married in beautiful Negril, Jamaica in June.
• I love the receptions that are hosted back home, in our head we always meant to do one but life got busy and we never got around to it. It’s such a great way to celebrate your wedding with people that weren’t able to make it to your destination wedding in a relaxed atmosphere.
• This commute (both to & from) will probably be my most memorable for a LONG time. On the way to Blue Canyon, I saw the strangest things on the road. There was an oversized semi toting a plaster whale tail that was easily the size of a house (still trying to figure that one out). There was a car that was duct taped together. The Goodyear Blimp was out, which caused many people to stop and look (mind you, I was on I-77, not where you really should be STOPPING to watch a blimp). Crazytown. I get to the hotel to meet up with Sheena + Jeremy and there’s nothing but twins. It was twinsfest in Twinsburg! LOL! On the way home, I had a raccoon run out in front of me and I swerved to miss him (no one was next to me) and ran over his friend behind him. I LOVE all animals so this gutted me and I was crying. Hubs was on my bluetooth laughing at me as I was really upset. Never, EVER look in your rearview mirror after running over an animal. Ugh, it was awful. Then I got pulled over – the first time I have EVER been pulled over. The cop saw me swerve and thought I was drunk – then right where I ran the raccoon over it went from 45 to 25 but in my tears I didn’t see the sign (why in the world is a highway 25?) so he clocked me doing 42 in a 25. Lovely. Luckily he let me off with a verbal warning once I explained what was going on to him. It’ll be a LONG time before I forget that drive!!!
• I had never been to Blue Canyon Kitchen and Tavern but had heard great things about it, they didn’t disappoint, such yummy food and a great location!
• Sheena and Jeremy have befriended Sarah from Main Street Cupcakes after going there so much for cupcake fixes. I completely understand this as I am the same way with my local cupcake place! So it only made sense that their favors were individual cupcakes in a darling box from Main Street Cupcakes! They were just as good as they looked. Sarah, you need a “south” location!!!
• One of the fun things I love about being a photographer is meeting so many great people. When I’m seated with guests, it’s fun to get to know people at the table and this table was not short of wonderful and nice people! We had a lot of laughs through the night and it was nice to not feel like an outsider!

Before the reception started I got some quick casual portraits of the newlyweds in a pretty shaded spot in the parking lot of the Hilton. Yes, this was part of the parking lot!

I loved their foot attire!!!

As a tip to their beach wedding, the tables were decorated in a beach motif. I LOVED these centerpieces!

Sheena is an AMAZING scrapbooker. I may be able to take pictures but I cannot scrapbook to save my life. Hers are amazing!!! She brought all of the scrapbooks and pictures from their wedding trip so everyone could enjoy the day they had.

Their favors from Main Street Cupcakes. SO good!

I had to play with the rings in the centerpiece!

The delicious dinner!

Closeup of the cute cute cute shoes Sheena was rockin!

A shot with their favors before I left!

It’s always fun when I get to shoot sessions that are based on referrals from past clients. I heart my clients, I really do. If it wasn’t for Devin & Heidi, I wouldn’t have booked Erin & Tony. If Sheena & Jeremy hadn’t of seen both of those sessions, they wouldn’t have booked me. It’s crazy to see what kind of a waterfall effect happens from just one happy client. Like I’ve said many times before, I am so lucky and blessed to have such wonderful people to call clients.
Sheena and Jeremy are getting married this June (ironically the same day as Erin and Tony!) in Negril, Jamaica. After seeing the wintery shoot that I had with Erin and Tony they decided that kind of session was exactly what they wanted to contrast with their summer beach wedding pictures. They also wanted to bring along their adorable doggie daughter Bella for some pictures since they won’t be able to take her to Jamaica. I LOVE when clients bring their dogs along with them! Not only does it capture you guys as a family for probably the first time, it also tends to relax everyone as it’s hard to be nervous when a dog is wanting to be played with! Dogs are great ice breakers!
I had such a fun time wandering around Hudson with these two! I’m a smidge bummed that I won’t be able to be in sunny Jamaica with them for their wedding but I hear rumors that I’ll be playing with them in August when they have their reception at home!

The cute cute cute family!

I love when people bring their dogs along to shoots, makes for super cute pictures like this one which happens to be my favorite!

While it wasn’t quite sub-zero it was still darn cold, these guys are troopers! Sheena was wearing heeled boots!

SMOOCH!

One big bummer about our rescheduled date? Main Street Cupcakes was closed. We were very sad!

We popped into The Learned Owl for some pictures and thawing out. Sheena and Jeremy are “book nerds” as they called themselves and as I am one myself, the bookstore was straight up my alley! This is seriously an adorable bookstore and if you are ever in the area you must stop by.

Sometimes, the coolest spots are ones you randomly see and think are cool. This is some of the awesome icicles that formed at the back of a building in Hudson. I love this shot for a million reasons but probably mostly because it was random.

What is also really awesome is when a picture turns out like you saw it in your head. Sounds like it’s something that’s easy to do but sometimes it’s hard to get images the way you see them in your mind in camera. Next to Crazy But True I saw these gas meters and I thought they’d make an interesting frame around Sheena and Jeremy. You don’t always need sunshine and grass to make a good image.

You don’t have to have spring temperatures to have colorful flowers in engagement pics! You can always pop in a florist and see if you can take some pics! On our way back to our cars, we passed by The Greenhouse and the zippy colors caught my eye and we asked if we could take a few quick pics inside and they graciously allowed us to do so.

I always love to finish up engagement sessions with a ring shot and this shoot followed suit. I LOVE the way this ring shot turned out!

* Ashley and Joe were one of my favorite engagement sessions from last year. It’s hard not to when she brought a change of shoes rather than clothes!
* You really couldn’t have asked for better weather the day of the wedding, while not a lot of sun was to be found, it was a balmy 40 degrees and there was no snow. Pretty much a perfect day for Cleveland!
* I LOVED these bridesmaid dresses. I have a bit of an obsession with chiffon and the colors matched my logo colors! Awesome!
* Ashley was ready when I arrived at 11AM, WAY before all the bridesmaids, I have to say that was a first!
* Ashley also came with her own glue gun which she whipped out and used to fix up some of her bouquets to more of the idea she had in her mind. You gotta love a bride that isn’t afraid to use a glue gun the morning of her wedding!
* The guys were relaxed, fun and just so fun to be around.
* The ceremony was beautiful and I loved all the winter details that Ashley chose to accent the theme of the wedding.
* By far one of the most crowded dance floors I have ever seen. It was packed ALL night long! This group knew how to boogie!
* Special thanks to Colleen Reed for being my second shooter!

A toast to the bride!

Colleen got this shot of the groom and ring bearer – LOVE!

There’s nothing more awesome than the moment the bride becomes a bride!

Ok ok, maybe there is something better, when the groom sees the bride for the first time. LOVED this moment!

Yep. That’s the best moment at a wedding. Ahhhh!

The full view of the gorgeous ceremony!

Saying their vows to one another…

The first kiss with a dash of laughter.

I LOVED Squire’s Castle!

I caught this moment of the bride looking out at the woods, later when I had her repose in the position, it didn’t look as good, go figure!

What a great looking group, I also loved the colors

The entire bridal party!

All the guys can’t be ignored!

My favorite of the day of the bride and groom!

This is a VERY close second though, awwwhhh.

Main Street Cupcakes = divine!

I have to admit, I really love sweetheart tables!

You know there’s going to be a ring shot here somewhere!

YUM! Their top cake was bellini flavored and it was DELICIOUS!

Sometimes the guest’s flashes can make a picture more interesting!

The father/daughter dance is always a tear jerker!

Bear hugs for Mom!

The flower girl hung with the adults as long as she could but eventually she tuckered out.

You know you’re having a good party when the bartender (gentlemen in the center) gets out and cuts a rug with the ladies!
Thanks again to Ashley and Joe for a wonderful time!
