Amy and John (Intimate Elegance at a Key West B&B)

Meet Amy & John! They had a sweet wedding down here in Key West, Florida. Amy got ready surrounded by family and friends in a house that was located right next to where her reception was going to be held. How easy and convenient was that? We arrived and Amy was getting the finishing touches on Amy’s hair. All the guest waited downstairs and were picked up via the Key West Trolley and then taken to the ceremony at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea. Amy and her Dad then followed. When everyone got settled Amy and her Father walked down the aisle to a beaming John. He was excited! The ceremony went perfectly! Then we were off to a garden reception under the palm trees and stars at Old Town Manor. This gang had a great time dancing the night away with friend and family!

Nelanie & Scott – {Key West Wedding Photography at the Hyatt}

We were so excited to shoot Nelanie and Scott’s summer wedding, especially because it was all inside. Nelanie and her bridesmaids got ready at a private condo in downtown Key West, while Scott and his boys prepped at the Hyatt. After Nelanie put on her dress, we headed over to St. Mary’s Star of the Sea for the ceremony and met up with the Swankey Girls from Swankey Events. Nelanie, literally turned heads as she walked down the aisle towards a smiling Scott. After the ceremony ,the celebration carried over to the Marquesa room at the Hyatt, where the party was ready to go. Roberto and Hiram, from Roberto and The Flats, were already playing cocktail hour when we arrived. The room was perfectly decorated, by Milan Event and Decor, with subtle touches and a few family heirlooms, very nice. As cocktail hour ended, Robert and Hiram shifted gears for the traditional dances. These dances were filled with so much emotion and family passion, we loved it. With great music, great food from the Hyatt, a fabulous cake from Key West Cakes this wedding reception was a great one. The guests had such a great time and never came off of the dance floor. The Flats entertained to the max, jamming right up to the last song, which absolutely blew the crowd away. What a way to end a wedding! We were so honored to be apart of your day and wish all the best.

Kerry & Adam – An Old Town Key West Westin Wedding

We were totally blessed by some wonderful couple this year and Kerry and Adam were no exception, they were another one of our wonderful pairs who make us love what we do. We showed up with Kerry getting ready, at the Westin Key West Resort and Marina, with her best friend and her sister, who were an absolute hoot. After Kerry finished her hair and make-up we headed out on the town to shoot some fun pics with Kerry and her girls, while David was with Adam and the boys hanging out with Mr. Mojito on the pier. As the ceremony approached, the guests were in place and Adam, with his super cool vest and tie, was waiting for a truly beautiful Kerry to walk down the aisle. The couple had a family friend marry them, which added a special touch to the already beautiful ceremony overlooking the Key West harbor. After the ceremony, the Westin was on cue for cocktail hour, as the spirits were flowing and the laughter began. This was such a fun and loving bunch. After an amazing first dance, we grabbed the couple for some breathtaking sunset photos followed by some fun shots only the Westin can deliver. After returning to the reception, DJ Jimmy Jamz had the party going and the couple were welcomed with great music, lots of dancing, delicious food, drinks and a fabulous cake from Key West Cakes. We partied with this group and could not get enough, we ended up at the famous Green Parrot. In typical Studio Julie fashion, we took the Parrot over ending up on stage with the band and shooting from behind the bar. Packed to the gills, but non the less we delivered some rocking shots of our couple and their guests in a Key West Landmark {hard to top that}! Let me just say this wedding had the absolute perfect amount of coverage, were we could capture eveything that we needed without anyone being rushed or anything being cut out. From beginning to end the day flowed just perfect and everyone had a blast. Again, thank-you Kerry and Adam for being so awesome and letting us do what we do…

Another fabulous Key West Wedding at the famous Casa Marina. We met up with Erin in her suite as she was surrounded by her bridesmaids and mom as she prepped for her big day. Her room was literally buzzing with activity and joyful emotions, we just loved it. It’s just something about a Key West beach wedding that makes everyone smile. After Erin put on her dress, we headed out to surprise Greg with a magnificent first look on the Casa Pier. After a wonderful first look, we had to get the bride and groom back inside to cool off before their beach ceremony commenced. As the guest were all seated, Greg took his place in the sand as his bride to be walked down the aisle on this beautiful Key West evening. With some quick “I dos” and lots of cheers the ceremony was complete and then we headed to cocktail hour, were the Casa Marina had everything all set to go for a wonderful night, ensuring all the guest were fully accommodated. With everything set for a great reception, DJ Kevin Wright was ready to introduce the couple and we were all set as Mr. and Mrs. entered the Grand ballroom with a huge applause. The couple went straight into their first dance and followed it up with 2 wonderful parent dances, including a special singing performance by the grooms mother. The rest of the night was filled with dancing and that is were we left them…partying the night away! Best Wishes you two!

Kelly and Josh – A Catholic Wedding with Reach Appeal (Key West Photographer)

We couldn’t wait to meet up with Erin and Josh for their big day. We had gotten to know them well after shooting their engagement photos last year and simply could not wait for their wedding. Kelly was absolutely stunning and Josh is so funny, they make such a fun couple. Kelly got ready in her ocean view room at the Reach Resort, with her family and special friends helping her look perfect for her day. Kelly had the cutest short wedding dress. It was filled with ruffles. I LOVED IT! As soon as everyone was ready we headed off property as we had some extra time built in to the schedule, which I love. We had the opportunity to shoot some really wonderful shots before the ceremony of both Kelly and her girls and Josh and his boys, separately of course. It is so much fun when we have plenty of time to go and create wonderful images; plus it just seems to calm everyone down, especially the boys. As the guests were seated and the parents escorted down the aisle, it was time for the ceremony to begin. Josh was all set at the alter as a radiant Kelly was escorted down the aisle by her father. St. Mary’s was beautifully decorated by Milan Event and Florals and was the perfect backdrop for a Key West wedding. As the ceremony concluded, we headed back to the Reach Resort where they were all set for a spectacular cocktail hour and patio reception overlooking the ocean and the Reach Pier. DJ Jimmy Cooper of Soundwave was already grooving as the champagne and spirits were being served the official party arrived via City View Trolley. After a great cocktail hour we grabbed the couple and headed down to pier to grab some gorgeous images. It was such a beautiful and calm night, the light was perfect and the cast from the sky was unlike anything we have seen in a while. Nature created the perfect setting for an absolutely fabulous night. After returning, the party began, and boy did it. This was a dancing group. How great of a scene was this? Everyone was dancing under the moonlit sky on a veranda overlooking the ocean and having the time of their lives. We had such a fun time shooting this high energy wedding and were so happy to be a part of their day. And can I just tell you that this had to be the tallest wedding I think I have ever shot. Everyone seemed tall. At the end of the night I discovered that everyone was volleyball players…that would explain it!

Kristin and Nick – A Southernmost Beach Affair (Key West Wedding Photographer)

We met up with Kristin at the Southernmost Beach, just as she and her girls returned from getting all glamed up at Bella Salon. The only thing left was some finishing touched on their make-up and then it was time for Kristin to put on the dress. Across the street, Nick and his boys were running ahead of schedule and made their way onto the beach to entertain guest as Melissa and the staff of The Southernmost Resort were putting the finishing touches together for the big event. After all the guests were seated, Steve Torrence escorted Nick down the aisle to await the entrance of his bride. Jonathan from CineaVerde was also on scene to ensure the event was captured cinematographically. With everyone in place an absolutely beautiful Kristin was escorted down the aisle by her little brother, who handed her off with a special handshake, it was so sweet. Kristin was absolutely gorgeous as she strolled down the beach towards her ceremony. The ceremony was beautifully decorated by Love in Bloom and was perfectly complimented by a sand ceremony. After the exchanging of vows and a heartfelt kiss, the formalities were complete and it was time to get to the party. The wind began to pick up a bit which meant awesome sunset photos. We tag teamed the sunset shoot with Cineaverde, ensuring some absolutely fabulous photos and super footage of the married couple, during one of the most special times of the day, sunset. At the conclusion of sunset, Kristin and Nick were ready for their official announcement and first dance on the beach and under the palms. With their friends and family looking on, this was a special moment shared by all. As the dances concluded, the Southernmost Beach Café had the buffet set and ready to go. Key West Cakes provided the cake and ensured everyone’s sweet tooth’s were satisfied. We left the couple dancing the night away, under the palms and the stars.

Sara and Matt {A Southernmost classic wedding infused with Old Key West}

We first met Sara and Matt over a year ago, when we shot their engagement photos and we totally fell in love with them. View those pictures here! We could not wait to shoot their wedding in Key West. We met up with Sara at the Southernmost Hotel, were she was getting ready with her best girls, mother and Aunt Colleen {Hi Aunt Colleen!}. After Sara slipped into her dress we were headed to the aisle well, the Southernmost Mansion. Matt and his boys were already at the Southernmost Mansion full of smiles and excitement and they were all set to go with sunglasses and beers in hand. After all the guest were seated, Rev. Steve Torrence began the service as a radiant Sara was escorted by her mother down the aisle. What a beautiful ceremony, the ocean on one side and the beautiful Southernmost House on the other. Lots of smiles, sweet loving looks and precious vows…and a BIG smooch to seal the deal!

Everyone then headed via the Key West Trolley to the reception that was all set to begin at Kelly’s Caribbean, with Roberto and the Flats all set to rock the house. Erica and Julie, with Simply You, were behind the scenes keeping all the pieces moving and ensuring that Sara had the perfect wedding. Milan Events set the decor and it was just stunning! I loved the chalkboards and the super fab place cards that Sara made herself. Our bride, Sara is one crafty girl!

Shortly after some heartfelt and humorous toasts, a wonderful dinner was served and then there was CAKE! And lots of cake to be had. Cakes by Carol served up several sweet treats that included pies and cake! Whatever your sweet tooth craved…Sara and Matt had it on that table. After the dinner service the party moved to the dance floor where Roberto and the Flats put their high energy performance in gear. Known for their great sound, rockin’ lights and long set list, the place was literally shaking. The Flats will play like 50-60 minutes straights without stopping, ensuring the party stays flowing. It was like being at a private concert with our best friends. What a wedding, multiple locations, great decor, fabulous food , grandiose sweet station, cigar roller, high energy live band and an absolutely wonderful couple. Kisses, Kisses, LOVE, LOVE!

Oh, and make sure you check out Sara’s shoes…Kate Spade! She knocked those little, sexy numbers out of the park!

Jacki & Andrew {Key West Lighthouse}

Jacki and Andrew, where do we begin! What a super fab couple, we laughed, partied and had the absolute best time with them and their families. From the day we booked Jacki, we loved her. She has the most amazing ora the she gives off and is just amazing to be around. Jacki choose to get ready at the Swankey Penthouse aka 623 Duval-over looking Duval Street, which allowed her to have plenty of room and a great view. Jacki had the most amazing bouquet, which her mother made for her. It consisted of brooches, that various family members and guest had given her during her engagement. Once there were enough, Jackie’s mom made them into a bouquet, how fab and original. After some great getting ready, we strolled down Duval Street to meet up with Andrew for him to do a 1st look {where the groom and the bride see each other before the ceremony}…this allowed us to do some shoot trippin’ before the ceremony {shoot trippin’-kinda like road trippin’, but with pictures}. We ended up at the Key West Lighthouse, which was the perfect setting for a Key West Wedding ceremony. Between Eventfully Yours and Milan Event and Florals, the ceremony set-up was absolutely beautiful. Jacki and Andrew, choose a best friend to marry them. This added such a personal touch to the ceremony and left many teary eyes the audience, it added such an intimacy especially under the shade a banyon tree. Shortly after the ceremony, we headed out to the up stairs 915, this is where the reception was ready to begin. DJ Kevin Wright was all set in the DJ booth and spinning the tunes as the official party arrived. Megan from Swankey Events was behind the scene all night ensuring all was perfect and surpassed any expectations, giving it the Swankey touch. The intimate reception was kicked off with an emotion first dance from the couple and unlimited plates of Tappas being passed around. The cake was made by Key West Cakes and the cake topper was hand crafted by Jacki’s brother. It was such an emotionally charged night of love, fun and genuine people, a constant reminder of why we do what we do. Thank you Jacki and Andrew, we love you guys. As Studio David to this day still walk around screaming Jacki Craig…what!!! Need we say more…

Kristine & Josh – {A Westin Wedding}

Meet Kristine and Josh, another great couple that we had a fabulous time with during all of their sessions. Kristine got ready at a beautiful suite at the The Westin Key West Resort & Marina that overlooked the Key West Harbor. We had so much fun during her getting ready coverage, as her sister and mother watched in anticipation as Kristine stepped into her dress. After Kristine was zipped in her dress, we headed down to meet up with Josh to capture the couples amazing first look. It was precious and sweet! After a heartfelt first look, the couple was transported via Keys Limo to Fort Zachary Taylor where their beach reception was to take place. With the guests seated and Josh in place a beautiful Kristine was escorted by her father to her beachside ceremony. With beautiful weather, location and a great couple, this ceremony was absolutely perfect. After Rev. Steve Torrence delivered some great vows and the ceremony concluded, we headed back to the Westin’s Sunset Deck, where a beautiful sunset reception was held at The Key West Westin Resort and Marina. After a graceful first dance, we grabbed the couple and headed to capture some fabulous Key West sunset shots. We headed back to the Sunset Deck at the Westin for some fun dancing, the couple cut their cake and their guest enjoyed a take away cupcake courtesy of Key West Cakes. As the night concluded, the couple gathered their guest and headed to the bar to enjoy shots for everyone. We loved the energy, that the bartender created as he poured shots across the bar for all to enjoy.
