I am going to post more in the future about them to show off some of their amazingness, but for now, here are the headshots that we did for them a few weeks ago. Oh, and here’s Lauren’s wedding that was held at Stonegate Mansion last year, which was the fabulous color combo of blue and cranberry that I have loved for awhile now due to the the modern and happy and pop-y fabulous look.

Ohmygoodness, I just went back and looked at Lauren and Casey’s wedding. I seriously LOVED those details. The Grecian Goddess Cranberry Rosette dresses were to. die. for. And they completely tricked out Stonegate. To a T (ahh, the puns. The puns).

And the monograms. OHHHHH, the monograms.

…And how perfect was it that our photo booth matched the event perfectly? I would say very.

PS-They didn’t pay me to post this. No one ever does because we don’t do fake advertising in the form of pretending to like someone (although that’s an idea….j/k…until someone actually does, in which case I will accept it. Haha. Well…as long as they’re good ;) Anyway, I am totally joking so don’t take that the wrong way. Should I stop talking now? Okay).

PPS-A New Year means New Year’s Resolutions! Starting now the blogging is a-pickin’ back up. I’m serious. I will not skip more than one day per post from now on and will try for almost every day (goodness knows we have enough pictures to share!). Will has agreed to do more post production so that I can do more blogging. Well, sort-of. He just doesn’t know he has yet, but he totally will. You’ll see.

Angela, you are incredibly special to me and I agree that we were absolutely supposed to meet when we did. I love that we can share totally different—but parallel—life stories and relate to one another. And I can’t wait to see you next week in Florida!!! I hope your birthday is amazing, filled with friends and family and love and lots and lots of laughter:)

I met up with Deb a few weeks ago on one of the coldest days we had had up to that point. But the light was amazing and the spot was perfect and Deb was awesome. So all in all, I was loving this shoot. I think we talked more than we photographed, but that is okay with me:) We chatted about owning our own businesses and life and all of that fun stuff—and I found Deb to be quite inspiring and enjoyable to be around and I hope these photographs represent the person she wants to portray…the real her. Her one request was that she didn’t have those awful regular headshot-on-a-blue-background type of images, I think we succeeded:) Deb, I so enjoyed our shoot and I hope you love these!

Anna and Shawn are getting married later this Fall at Swan-e-set Golf and Country Club, but for their engagement session, we chose Trout Lake, a well known urban park in the heart of Vancouver’s Commercial Drive district. It had been a rainy week, but luck was on our side again as the sun was out all day long for a nice warm weekday engagement session. The park was quiet that afternoon, just few locals and mainly parents walking with their young kids and moms pushing baby strollers, which was a real contrast to the few other times we’ve been to Trout Lake during summer evening when it was just packed with locals. We had no problems finding cool little locations that worked well for photos. I was able to learn a whole lot about Anna and Shawn their plans for not just a wedding here in Vancouver, but also one in Korea after their honeymoon this year. I’ve always found it amazing that some of my clients have more than one wedding and in different countries too. I know how challenging it can be to just have one wedding celebration, but to have more than one must be a ton of work. If anyone can pull it off two amazing weddings, I’m sure Anna and Shawn can. Looking forward to being there for their Vancouver wedding day in just a few weeks.

Next up in my photographer headshot series (images from a photographer get together back in July where we all photographed each other) is the awesome Candice from Serendipity Studios. I love how the urban background of downtown lends well to the images of Candice (she made great choices as far as her attire) and we captured a wide range of emotions that are plain to see on her face with every shot – sultry, dreamy, and happy. It’s fun to experiment with capturing different types of expressions so that you have a wide variety of images to use for various situations.

Next up in my Photographer Headshot series is my buddy Laurel of Photography by Laurel Serra. Laurel is a great wedding & family photographer and it was fun to capture her adorable personality. As you can see, Laurel has extremely captivating eyes, which I consider to be one of her greatest features. When photographing headshots, I like to concentration on an aspect of my subject that will really draw in the person who is viewing the images. Even though she is known for her bubbly, funny, and sometimes sarcastic personality, you can see the depth of Laurel’s emotions just by looking into her eyes!

Downtown Ft. Lauderdale at sunset created a beautiful setting for capturing these images of lovely Laurel! :)
