Tanner hated taking pictures, but now- he swears he is a model, ha ha. I think Lauryn just makes him look good
. (Just kidding Tanner, you did great!). Seriously, I can’t wait to show off Lauryn’s bridals after the wedding- stunning!

Ed and Irwin have been engaged for a really long time. They might even have a record on their hands... nearly 10 years.
But in August their 10 year engagement will come to an end when they tie the knot at the Meridian House, and I couldn't be happier for them.
I met Ed and Erwin though an organization called
Wish Upon a Wedding. Wish Upon a Wedding just opened a chapter in DC and I immediately joined. Ed + Erwin will be the first
recipients of a wedding with the DC chapter. I couldn't be more honored to have been a small part of their wedding story.
We met at their home in Virginia and took photos in their backyard; it was so quiet and beautiful there- a place I can tell they spend a lot of time together and with their two children, Leon and Ilo.
It hurts my heart to tell you that Erwin is battling stage 4 lung cancer. The chemo treatments have left him tired, but I'm telling you, this guy isn't giving up. Oh no. He's hardly missed work. He still plays with his little ones. He even cooks amazing lasagna. (trust me, I got to eat it- it was delicious.) A true fighter.
I am humbled to know these two amazing people. They are strong, kind and giving people. Great parents. Their love is quiet and patient, kind and sweet.
Ed + Erwin, I pray your happiness and kindness will inspire others to do good things.
I know it has inspired me.

I love this family! I’m so glad they came back for some newborn portraits after their daughter, Zoe, was born. The story of Eowyn & Greg…
begins with their engagement session in 2008…

And their wedding August of ’08…

And, now their new baby, Zoe!

And Zoe’s proud big sister.

I had an absolute blast hanging out with Caitlyn & Johnny in Stonington a few weeks back for their engagement session. They had so many awesome ideas and cool props, I was like a kid in a candy store!! I mean, come on – look at the size of that balloon! Both Amber and I are super stoked for their wedding at Harkness State Park in a few weeks.
Duuude – Johnny & Caitlyn KILLED IT!!!! Absolute fave photo evah!

I’m sitting here watching the afternoon wind blow over a beautiful field of tall grass—my editing field here in Martha’s Vineyard. I’m vacationing with my husband’s family up island in Aquinnah and enjoying incredible cross breezes, abundant sunshine, beautiful beach days, amazing dinners, and good ol’ family time. I’m officially moving in a matter of days (5 to be exact) and I still have much to fill you in on so I’ll get right down to it!
Kristin emailed me the day after she got engaged…really! I just adore this couple and both of their families. See, I photographed Kristin’s brother’s wedding back in July of 2008 and Kevin’s brother’s wedding back in September of 2008. The two grooms were friends (and the brides too). However, apparently Kevin was friends with someone else who was friends with Kristin, so the interconnection between the two of them is not actually through their brothers (funny). Have I confused you yet…it’s very confusing. Anyway, these two are awesome and I was so psyched when they called me first after they were engaged, again I am so honored Kristin. We got a beautiful day with awesome soft light for a great session, I hope you like the sneak peek:)
I love this little spot. Kevin thought I was crazy but I still like it:)

cute:)

I found this little spot with the flowers and I had to put them in there. Sometimes I just like flowers:)

I love the late evening light at the beach…lourrrvvve it!

And we all know about my obsession with beach grass.

Alright…does anyone else think they look like they belong in a catalog here?!?! Hott! This might be my favorite shot from the day.

But this one definitely plays a close second to the one above. I love your smile here Kristin:)

Such a tender moment.

Kristin, with those eyes, beautiful!

This was a great one too, I love the dunes and soft grass below them.

Alright people….time to make up for lots of blog neglect. Prepare yourself for all kinds of yummy images and blog posts!! First, we have the Calice & Vincent who decided to shoot their engagement photos in NYC to capture the few years they spent there while studying at NYU. In just a few days they’ll be leaving behind their totally kick-a** apartment in Washington Square and flying half way around the world to have their wedding and start a new life in Taiwan. We started shooting in Central Park which as many of you may know I have done countless times with lots of different couples and families. But I was super psyched when Vincent told me he’d be bringing his huge bass! We busted out the flash in true Raw Photo Style and rocked the bass all over Central Park – so fun!!
We ended the session back at Washington Square and then b-lined to the West Village where Vincent & Calice hang out all the time. Obviously the best part about playing bass is jamming in a grungy jazz club until the wee hours of the morning! So, we headed over to Fat Cat in the West Village, played pool, rocked some more flash, and listened to some deep bass lines courtesy of some serious local talent.
Enjoy guys and good luck with the wedding!
I couldn’t decide which one of these two was my favorite! What do you guys think??!!

St. Augustine, Florida
We met up with Melissa and Brian in St. Augustine for a few beers and a few photos. More photos than beers…I promise. I don’t even like beer. Except Cider. But I’m told (by beer snobs, I’m looking at you Griffin!) that Cider doesn’t count as beer. I digress… We met up with them on a steamy Florida afternoon for photos around the downtown area. Missy wanted a few dark and romantic shots inside Stogies, a little cigar and jazz spot off the main strip so we took a break from the heat and let Missy and Brian snuggle in the dark for a bit.
Missy and Brian came to us via our friend, Kylene. Kylene is a photographer herself and a close friend of Missy. So close in fact that Missy wanted her to be a part of the wedding instead of working at it. And Kylene was nice enough to put Missy in contact with yours truly. I’d like to believe it is destiny. Or some serious match making skills on Kylene’s behalf because just a few minutes after meeting Missy and Brian we knew that we were a match made in heaven. Missy and Brian are absolutely adorable together and we cannot wait to shoot their wedding just days before we leave for our own. (October shall hence force be known as the MONTH OF JUBILATION!)
The first shot of the day. They’re naturals…

This spot couldn’t have been styled better if I’d tried…

It means “the creek” for you curious souls out there. ;)

I ADORE freckles!

People ask why our clients wear sunglasses in our shoots. It’s because that’s some blazing 99 degree sunshine right there. ;)

GORGEOUS!

Central Park in the middle of New York City is such a perfect little spot for an engagement shoot. April and Nico graciously took us around the park on a super warm, ridiculously sweltering day, and even still, we had a super fun time!! They are two of the sweetest, kindest people ever, and I just loved getting to know them better! I can’t wait for your wedding in October guys!!!

Katie

Marthé contacted me a few months ago and after chatting for only a few minutes we totally hit it off. She is young and fun and totally, ridiculously, head over heels in love with Ryan. I just love when someone takes a chance on love, and since these two have only known each other for less than a year I think they are doing exactly that! I met them down in my old stomping grounds of Ipswich, MA and we walked around town and then headed down to the most beautiful beach on the planet, Crane’s beach. I have sooooo many favorites it was really hard to select them down but I tried my hardest:)
I know…I know…they’re gorg!

Pretty light happens even in front of a dumpster:)

I love the way you two laugh together:)

Hello great light in Ipswich.

See what I mean?!?! This is probably one of my very favorites from the session. I love the light, their looks, the pose, the colors…everything!

I used to drive by this field all the time and thought it was so pretty. Well, it was so pretty with tall light colored grass and beautiful light!

Yowzers!

Then we hit Crane’s for the most perfect light hour—after 7:00 I believe—and got awesome light and super soft sand. BTW, Ryan is smokin’ in this shot!

Gorgeous!

See with the perfect light?

This one is awesome in color too, but I like the black and white. Marthé, you’re beautiful!

If I’m on the beach I really like to use the lifeguard stations:)

Could you two smile a little more…I mean really?!?!

Favorite!

This was the FB sneak peek. Perfect orange sun.
