Every now and then we get a bride who from the very first email, leaves a lasting impression.  To recall exactly how our relationship began with Julie, I had to go searching through our emails to see exactly how the story unfolded!!  Since just about all our brides live else where, email is usually our first encounter.  Upon our first response to Julie to let her know that we did infact have her wedding date open, this is how our journey began…I must say, I laughed going back and re-reading!:

{side note: “Boy” that Julie refers to has a name…it’s Chris…just incase you were wondering!}

{2nd side note & back story: anyone who has received a new client inquiry response email post Feb. 2010, this is the bride who began our whole “going steady” saying}

Julie {email #1}:  Ok, so “the boy” is giving me side-eye wondering why I’m jumping up and down in my seat. So excited you’re free and even more excited you want to join us!  I already adore y’all – so excited to go steady.

Julie {email #2} The good news is we adore you and we’re all yours.  The challenge is now the date.  We drove through a snowstorm to hear that 2 parts of the fam can’t do the 10th.  Amateurs. So boy and I are currently drinking pinot and debating keeping the 10th or changing the date to another where you’re available.  Because I’m fully serious when I say the following:  1. We will get married on a day when y’all are free, because the date itself doesn’t matter to us … just having the right people with us matter to us.

Julie {email #3 Titled “Your favorite Canadian is coming to town”}: Hey ladies!  Ok, truthfully – I am likely your only Canadian client so I’m ok saying that.  Anywho, since I have not seen the sun up here since late August of last year, I’m coming to town and would love to meet y’all before our big “prom date” in September.  Seriously, it feels a lot like prom – NO one I know talks to me about anything besides dresses, flowers, hair and “my date”.  Thankfully my style is a lot better now.

Sad to say, this meeting pre-prom didn’t happen since we were out of town.  We were totally disappointed!  Since this gathering never went down, we decided to have a little skype session one morning over coffee.  During our little coffee chit chat with our new found Canadian friend we learned that Jules had the same love for The Bachelor .  There it was, our Monday Bachelor Date Nights which included facebook messages back and forth.  Along with a little game!  For those that watched the season of the Bachelorette with Ashley…if you don’t remember the ever so infamous Bentley, then obviously you didn’t really watch! Drink every time Bentley’s name is uttered.  Ok, so needless to say that game really didn’t last long.  One episode and I was three sheets to the wind.  It was fun while it lasted…however, my liver now thanks me because he would possibly have hated Bentley more than all off America!  Julie made this observation after my husband made this remark: “if we have another boy, we’re naming him Bentley.” Julie: “Really – who names their son after a car they’ll never drive? Really! Just for that, tell Jared I’m naming our boy Honda. Less pretentious, more mileage!!”

So here we were, our BIG one-on-one date with Jules and “The Boy” finally arrived!  However, after much build up there was no way we were going empty handed.  What did we bring, you ask?  Why, a rose of course!  Thankfully, Julie accepted our rose and well, it’s been true love ever since!!

Today we received another email from Julie…the kind of email every wedding photographer crosses their fingers, toes, and hearts to receive!  And I’m not going to lie…I kinda shed a tear…

Julie: {email today} Ok, so I had to wait until the morning to properly get my thoughts and words in order.  And it’s still taken me to the afternoon to get it right.

Thank you for agreeing to go steady!  These shots are nothing short of exquisite – I laughed, I cried, I hollered at Chris to pull over yesterday while driving to a meeting so he could see them too!  They are everything I dreamed you’d create and more.  Thank you for capturing delicious moments – For reals.

Second – Thank you for having such an gorgeous portfolio that let me trust in the fact that when things didn’t quite go as planned, I have the incredibly talented Vue chicks who won’t let me down.

I’m not the most photogenic person on the planet, I tend to make silly faces and bad jokes when nervous or when there’s too much attention on me and yet y’all have managed to transform into a pretty cute bride.  Thank you SO much for the time and attention you gave us and as Chris said – “they are so awesome!” (which translates into: “Jules, you were right about them!  I should have never raised an eyebrow during wedding budget discussions.”)

Love y’all!

Jules

Who doesn’t love a little glitz and glam(…well perhaps aside from the majority of the male population)?!!  For those who do, Ashley and Alex’s wedding truly satisfied!  The fun little details had us captivated…from the pink birdcage veil, pink diamond ring, the broach and rosette bouquets, the thumb prints of guests, the photobooth with family photo heirlooms, the hilariously entertaining couple’s dance, to even the details on the cake and topper (seriously look at this cake….everything on the cake resembles the wedding day!)…..it was all amazing!!  Shelby Peaden and her team were beyond fantastic!  Most fun of all…Ashley and Alex’s exuberant and lively personalities!!  We seriously went home that evening with smiles on our faces!!
