Anytime we shoot at Carillon with Victoria and Avis…it feels like home!  But when you have a precious bride who makes you feel as though you’ve known each other for much long that just a day…if feels like home with family!  Cristen and her sister, Neely, helped her in planning the couple’s black and white wedding and did all the stationery for the wedding…we fell in love with their attention to detail!

Another detail I loved….those bridesmaid’s dresses…and I think I need one {they all had the same dress but wrapped it differently}!  Do you know how happy my husband would be if I had 10 black dresses all in own?!  He might actually be able to fit his clothes in our closet….maybe. probably not.  Actually if they have them in shorter length…I might have just found my new favorite wedding day shooting attire!

Enjoy taking in all the beautiful details and even more so….what a beautiful bride and groom Cristen and Tom were!!  Congratulations Dr. & Dr. Matthews!!!

Watching the movie last night I laughed a lot and even wiped a tear.  I don’t know too many people who can say that their job revolves around love…but somehow we were blessed enough to be put right in the middle of it all! Being immersed in love and relationships throughout life, you learn that love is sometimes crazy.  Lets be honest…every family has their crazy moments! And sometimes it even has it’s stupid moments.  In the end though, in one way shape or form…it’s worth it.

Putting Amy and Gary’s blog post today, their love for one another put a smile on my face!  We first met the two for their engagement session back in the fall.  Having spent time with both of them and being apart of such a special day, there’s something so genuine and sweet about them that just draws you in!  We absolutely adored being apart of their Carillon Wedding.

On that note, I’m going to continue on in my nostalgia with another cup of sleepy time tea!  Cheers to love and comfy Friday nights!

{To put a face with the name…I’m pretty sure most of you have seen my sister-in-law, Rachel, around in one place or another…you know that cake toss picture of the bride with blue skies??  Yep, that’s her!!}

So when planning for an event…what place is more addicting and perfect than Etsy.com?  With the paypal payments flooding our bank statements, I’m sure my husband begs to differ!  After being apart of Jennifer and Zach’s Carillon Wedding, her precious little Etsy finds and sweet decor and details were the perfect push of excitement I needed for my Little Miss baby shower planning!!

Jennifer and Zach’s wedding was sweet, simple, beautiful and intimate…a perfect reflection of their relationship!

Being such a close knit family, Anna and Wright’s wedding was laced with family heirlooms and treasures!!  Here’s the list:

Aunt Joan, who’s been a coordinator for years, coordinated the entire wedding flawlessly!

Anna’s veil was a Mantilla silk illusion veil trimmed in Belgium re-embroidered Alencon lace that was her Aunt Joan’s

The monogrammed heirloom linens used on the Altar table belonged to Anna’s Grandmother

Anna and Wright’s get away was in a 1930 Model A Ford Woody Wagon, restored and owned by Anna’s Uncle Bill

The hand painted pillows used on the garden benches of the Eastern Green were handpainted by friend & artist Leanne Peek of Albany, Georgia

The silver tray used to hold the wedding favors, Sweet T’s (teacakes!), was a wedding gift to the bride and groom by Wright’s Mother.   It had belonged to the his Great Grandmother.  Not to mention the teacake recipe is Aunt Joan’s family’s recipe!

Everything from that day was absolutely, positively, breathtakingly perfect!  Not to mention the band, Az Izz, was hands down UH-MAZING and even taught everyone how to douggie!  Totally recommend!!  Not to mention the evening ended with a catch…Anna’s sister caught the bouquet!

Now we can’t wait for Carrie’s wedding!  Their Southern hospitality just sucked us right in like puckered lips on a lemon…we might as well just be one big happy family!

One of the best combos we had in 2010 was Avis & Johns wedding! We met Avis  a few years back when she started working for Carillon. She was one of the coordinators who kept us in line , on time, and on top of things for Victoria {the head of Carillon Weddings}. That’s not an easy task…lets be honest we’re highly excitable!

So it only made it all the more fantastic that it we end the year with her event! The perfect combination of work & friends!  Not to mention, we got to shoot with one of those friends who is a close photog pal {or as Wesleyann likes to call him, her brotha’ from anotha’ motha’}, Wesley Leytham with Rae Leytham Photography!

And because we know what is going to go through your mind as you continue to scroll….shooting a bride-to-be’s undergarments is nothing new for photographers…however, apparently the guys have been feeling a little left out.  If you’ve been following us for a long time, you might remember us talking about a “pants party” from Kellie and Kent’s wedding {almost 2 years ago!}.  Well, I think word got out and made it’s way all the way to Denmark, because Thomas and his Danish boys decided to have “pants party” of their own…right on the Emerald Coast Beaches!  Just to clarify…at no time have we ever asked anyone to drop their trousers.  However be warned…if you choose to do so, your image may be quite a hit and end up on The Knot’s Most Outrageous Wedding Photos!

One bride who definitely had no problem being in front of the camera and made it look so easy was Kristen!  Genya and I had so much fun with her and Alex at their Rosemary wedding!!  Jennifer, from It’s A Shore Thing, worked her magic and the day played out perfectly…not to mention, any wedding with Jennifer is always a blast!!  We ADORE her!!

As photographers and coordinators, there are many things you can control, however nature is not one of them…along with SWARMS of dragon flies!  All Genya and I could think was that we were glad they weren’t birds…because out little black dresses would have become spotted with white polka dots faster that one could say “oh crap!”  And….I was in no hurry to reenact a scene from the film Birds!

Speaking of loony, we had Will and Kate’s wedding a few weeks back! Kate’s maiden name is “Looney” and even through she’s now a “Walters”- there’s no doubt that her fun loving, “Looney” spirit won’t be lost!

After their engagement session we counted down the days {which took up a lot of fingers and toes} ’til their wedding because we knew it was going to be 100% bliss, and it didn’t disappoint!

One of our favortie parts:

The duo adores the “Avett Brothers”, so as a surprise for Will, Kate decided to talk to his friends about them singing “January Wedding” at the reception. Little did she know, Will had the same idea- except he was going to sing it with his friends to Kate! The look on her face was priceless as Will took the stage!
