Sara & Braylen’s wedding ~ The Westin Westminster

View Photographer Profile

I’ve been so excited to share Sara and Braylen’s wedding, which took place earlier this month at the Westin Westminster. This was a wedding that had all the elements that make up an incredible day – it was lovely and elegant. Emotional. Gorgeous weather. An even more gorgeous couple. Incredible decor. To-die-for shoes. And a yellow bow tie. And argyle socks. But most importantly, Sara and Braylen are absolutely perfect for each other, and the entire event was a perfect reflection of that.

I just love their color palate of yellow and gray and how they infused their sense of style into all the details of the wedding – simply stunning.

Red Rocks Engagement Session – Colleen & John

View Photographer Profile

It was a dark and stormy night.. a good start to any story. In the case of John and Colleen the dark and stormy night translated into amazing Colorado skies, deep and dramatic. And perfect light. And even though John jokingly requested that this blog post primarily focus on sordid details, I have to respectfully decline :) He and Colleen will be married this weekend with a reception at the Westin Tabor Center in downtown Denver; if their engagement session was any indication, the wedding is going to be absolutely incredible. Just look at them – I just love their connection.. denver colorado engagement portrait session

Erin & Phil’s Wedding ~ The Club at Flying Horse, Colorado Springs

View Photographer Profile

colorado springs club flying horse bride groomErin & Phil are married!! When we shot their engagement session last month at Spruce Mountain Ranch I just knew that their wedding would be a blast.

Erin and Phil are both archaeologists, and I love how much effort they put in to personalizing their wedding and incorporating their archaeological world into the wedding day – there was rock art on the cake, arrowheads as part of the decor, and chocolate arrowheads in rock art etched wine glasses as the favors. We used a rock art graphic as part of the design when creating their custom signature engagement guest book. I love how everything tied together – they even gilded their archaeological tools to use for cutting the cake.  SO innovative and creative! (and wait til you see the groom’s cake :)colorado wedding details

After the ceremony at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church we took a quick stop at the Garden of the Gods before heading over to The Club at Flying Horse for the reception. Such an incredible day! Here are a few more favorites..

I am officially behind on blogging. And that, my friends, seems to be a trend that occurs a little more regularly this time of year, when wedding season hits full force. So for today, just a peek from Sara & Braylen’s incredibly gorgeous wedding last weekend at The Westin in Westminster. So many amazing details at this wedding (and you all know that I’m a total sucker for the details!) – loved the color palate of yellow and gray, with stunning silver dresses for the bridesmaids, and the bow ties & argyle socks for the guys, and her to-die-for shoes – yes, PLEASE.  Congratulations, you two – hope you are having a fabulous honeymoon! Here’s just a little tease :)

Stay tuned for lots more blog posts ahead.. including more from Sara and Braylen, an incredible colorado sunset engagement session, the complete blog post from Erin & Phil’s wedding at The Club at Flying Horse, children’s portrait sessions, and more!

Denver Botanic Garden at Chatfield Wedding

View Photographer Profile

While Jacy and Todd are luxuriating on a honeymoon to the white sandy beaches of Bora Bora (courtesy of Ellen!), I thought I’d post a few more images from their fabulous Colorado wedding. It was ah-mazing! (I know I say that about pretty much every wedding, but that’s only because it’s true :)

When I first spoke with Jacy she mentioned how important it was that their wedding be truly representative of them – she described it as wanting a simple country wedding – rustic and down-home, fun and relaxed, and authentic. And it was – everything from the quintessential Colorado backdrop at the Botanic Gardens at Chatfield, to the cowboy boots & cowboy hats, to the burlap incorporated in the beautiful floral bridal bouquets. The centerpieces were comprised various pieces of bee-keeping memorabilia (Jacy’s family represents four generations of bee-keeping tradition in Colorado (check out Beeyond the Hive), and Jacy & Todd even did a unity pouring of honey during the ceremony. It was perfect. Here are a few favorites..

Denver Engagement Session ~ Erin & Phil

View Photographer Profile

Ending the week with a few from Erin and Phil’s recent engagement session at the amazing Spruce Mountain Guest Ranch, a brand new wedding venue located in Larkspur, just south of Castle Rock. I had visited during this past winter, but was so excited to be able to return in spring when everything was lush and in bloom. What an incredible spot. Absolutely phenomenal!  A huge thank you to Tara at Spruce Mountain for allowing us to shoot there – it was beyond perfect.

Erin & Phil will be getting married this summer with a reception at The Club at Flying Horse in Colorado Springs, and it’s going to be ah-mazing! Erin and Phil are both archeologists, and have SO many super fun ways that they are personalizing aspects of their wedding – like incorporating rock art on their wedding cake, and they’ve even had a couple of their archaeological tools gilded so that they can use them to cut the cake – how cool is that? It is going to rock.. literally!! :)

love that Colorado blue sky

Warmest wishes to you both!
