I'm lucky enough to have two of these trees in my front yard- no crazy crowds for me!

Michelle and Mike wanted photos around cherry blossom tress, so I took them to one of my favorite spots in Vancouver for Sakura. There were several trees in bloom and we spent most of our time photographing around the Cherry Blossoms. There were a handful of locals also taking photos and at one point, an older lady with an iPad 2 (even I don’t have an iPad 2) began taking photos of the trees. I guess the traditional camera is out and iPads and iPhones have taken over – even for nature photography!

Cherry blossoms in DC! Sounds like a killer time to have your picture taken – and it was! A million other people thought so too…. We were not deterred – crowds or not Sara & Eric worked it out and we had an amazing time among the masses as we photographed them for their e-session. Their engagement shoot took place in our nations capital at the peak of the Cherry Blossom Festival. DC was alive with people, sounds and the business that makes Washington an awesome place for photographs! While we made sure we incorporated the cherry blossoms, we also made sure we hit all the spots that make Washington what it is – the Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, the Reflecting Pool and even the WW II Memorial. Sara & Eric were up for the challenge and we all had an awesome adventure as we got lost among the history and streets of the capital. Oh yeah, we took a few pics too. Here’s a few of my favs!

i’m sitting in my hotel room in brooklyn (not sleeping when i SHOULD be; i have a long drive home tomorrow.)
yesterday’s wedding was uh-mazing. no…that’s not extreme enough. it was AMAZING.

here’s one of my favorite shots from the day…but there are LOTS of other incredible photos.
today i met up with jess & matt who’re getting married in a couple months in maryland. we wandered around and enjoyed spring in NYC.

i’ve gotta give props to both these fantastic couples…jen hiked over some rather sizable boulders…in her wedding dress! (she agrees the photos are SO worth it, though) and jess & matt didn’t blink when i suggested we ignore fences…and hop up on a vintage truck that was waiting around to be on a movie set. YOU ALL ROCK.
and now. i think i will go to sleep.

We had been talking about doing an engagement photo session with Angela and Peter since around the middle of last year, but we sure had to wait a while to get some decent weather (and avoid Olympic road blocks!). Fortunately, we got some great weather in early Spring 2010, so I met up with Angela and Peter at Granville Island in Vancouver. The weather was perfect and Angela wore her blue navy dress that he had been wanting to wear for a while.
We spent a couple of hours touring around the area and spotted some cherry blossoms on the other side of the harbour. Despite it being early spring, the warmer winter weather meant an early blossom for these Sakura trees, but for us, it meant catching the blossoms closer to the end of their bloom.
I had a fun time hanging out with Angela and Peter and we got to do some pretty fun photos at the end of the session. Here are just a handful of photos we did early on. Hopefully if I can find time between little Liam’s naps, I post some more!
