It’s Friday y’all. And typically in the vue chick’s world, that means it’s time to pack our bags and hit the road! However, before we head to Pebble Hill Plantation, we’re going to leave you with Cristen and Tom’s wedding!!

Anytime we shoot at Carillon with Victoria and Avis…it feels like home! But when you have a precious bride who makes you feel as though you’ve known each other for much long that just a day…if feels like home with family! Cristen and her sister, Neely, helped her in planning the couple’s black and white wedding and did all the stationery for the wedding…we fell in love with their attention to detail!

Another detail I loved….those bridesmaid’s dresses…and I think I need one {they all had the same dress but wrapped it differently}! Do you know how happy my husband would be if I had 10 black dresses all in own?! He might actually be able to fit his clothes in our closet….maybe. probably not. Actually if they have them in shorter length…I might have just found my new favorite wedding day shooting attire!

Enjoy taking in all the beautiful details and even more so….what a beautiful bride and groom Cristen and Tom were!! Congratulations Dr. & Dr. Matthews!!!

9PM on a Friday night. While some of you are out dressed to the nines and in your high heels with a fancy drink in hand…I’m sitting here in my comfy clothes, slippers with hot tea {yes, hot…even if it is still 95 freakin’ degrees outside}. I know you’re all shocked…you’re all thinking “TEA?! Not coffee, a redbull…or even a red bull and vodka?!” Let me just put this out there….I’m not fully caffeinated ALL THE TIME! Here’s your pass…go ahead and chalk this one up under the old fogies category. I’ll have you know though….a night in is sometimes quite nice and much needed. I suppose I sound like I had some sort of strenuous and exhausting week. Honestly, I really couldn’t even tell you what even went down this week. However, I do know that last night was date night and we went and saw Crazy, Stupid, Love….and it was crazy, sexy, good. I’ve never been one to have hollywood, celebrity crushes, but after seeing Ryan Gosling….well, I’m willing to cave. If my husband’s celebrity crush can be Scarlett Johansson {yeah…I don’t get that one either}, well then mine is now Ryan Gosling.

Watching the movie last night I laughed a lot and even wiped a tear. I don’t know too many people who can say that their job revolves around love…but somehow we were blessed enough to be put right in the middle of it all! Being immersed in love and relationships throughout life, you learn that love is sometimes crazy. Lets be honest…every family has their crazy moments! And sometimes it even has it’s stupid moments. In the end though, in one way shape or form…it’s worth it.

Putting Amy and Gary’s blog post today, their love for one another put a smile on my face! We first met the two for their engagement session back in the fall. Having spent time with both of them and being apart of such a special day, there’s something so genuine and sweet about them that just draws you in! We absolutely adored being apart of their Carillon Wedding.

On that note, I’m going to continue on in my nostalgia with another cup of sleepy time tea! Cheers to love and comfy Friday nights!

Some of you may know that I’m a proud momma of two little boy munchkins. Coming from a family of all girls but now being surrounded by all things boys, when I found out my sister-in-law, Rachel, was going to be having a little miss….i jumped into full girly girl mode and began planning for her baby shower with much excitement. Each night between the hours of 8:30PM-1AM {because that’s my only “spare” time}…you’ll find me working away to tunes as i put my hardcore craftiness to work with buttons, pinwheels, fabric, and a hot glue gun! Makes me feel like the little mice in Cinderella…if I had a Guss Guss around, it would be perfect…and I’m sure we’d give Martha a run for her money!

{To put a face with the name…I’m pretty sure most of you have seen my sister-in-law, Rachel, around in one place or another…you know that cake toss picture of the bride with blue skies?? Yep, that’s her!!}

So when planning for an event…what place is more addicting and perfect than Etsy.com? With the paypal payments flooding our bank statements, I’m sure my husband begs to differ! After being apart of Jennifer and Zach’s Carillon Wedding, her precious little Etsy finds and sweet decor and details were the perfect push of excitement I needed for my Little Miss baby shower planning!!

Jennifer and Zach’s wedding was sweet, simple, beautiful and intimate…a perfect reflection of their relationship!

This morning while driving the Mini {mia} to school a M&M tumbled into my coffee cup…bummer or bonus? I quietly screamed “SCORE”. Although, it was partially because I realized it was an excuse to eat chocolate for breakfast!! Not that I can’t anyway- that is a perk of being an adult, or at least that’s what I tell the Mini. Why not combine the things you LOVE!

One of the best combos we had in 2010 was Avis & Johns wedding! We met Avis a few years back when she started working for Carillon. She was one of the coordinators who kept us in line , on time, and on top of things for Victoria {the head of Carillon Weddings}. That’s not an easy task…lets be honest we’re highly excitable!

So it only made it all the more fantastic that it we end the year with her event! The perfect combination of work & friends! Not to mention, we got to shoot with one of those friends who is a close photog pal {or as Wesleyann likes to call him, her brotha’ from anotha’ motha’}, Wesley Leytham with Rae Leytham Photography!

Right before we left for the Christmas holidays, we received a special gift…Angela and Brian‘s Carillon Wedding beautifully published within the pretty pages of The Knot Florida Spring/Summer 2011 issue!! It was the perfect gift to begin such a wonderful time of year!!

Since Ashley and Thomas’ Carillon Wedding, every time I head the new Black Eyed Peas new song, I think of them! Whether it’s Jennifer Grey winning Dancing With the Star, listening to the radio, or going through their wedding pictures, Ashley and Thomas are on my mind! Why would Baby from Dirty Dancing remind me of Ashley you ask? Well now that i think about it…they do kinda look similar…but Ashley and Thomas did as entire surprise Dirty Dancing number at their wedding! Not only did we love their dance, but apparently they are quite the hit in Hong Kong {Thomas and Ashley moved to Hong Kong from Denmark…Thomas is Danish and they met in Denmark}. Ashley sent us an email a few weeks back and told us how she was strolling the hallways at work when she heard “Time of My Life”…only to find out she has become quite that talk of the town! Be sure to take a peek at Ashley and Thomas’ sneak peek from Diva Productions!!

And because we know what is going to go through your mind as you continue to scroll….shooting a bride-to-be’s undergarments is nothing new for photographers…however, apparently the guys have been feeling a little left out. If you’ve been following us for a long time, you might remember us talking about a “pants party” from Kellie and Kent’s wedding {almost 2 years ago!}. Well, I think word got out and made it’s way all the way to Denmark, because Thomas and his Danish boys decided to have “pants party” of their own…right on the Emerald Coast Beaches! Just to clarify…at no time have we ever asked anyone to drop their trousers. However be warned…if you choose to do so, your image may be quite a hit and end up on The Knot’s Most Outrageous Wedding Photos!

Who doesn’t love a little glitz and glam(…well perhaps aside from the majority of the male population)?!! For those who do, Ashley and Alex’s wedding truly satisfied! The fun little details had us captivated…from the pink birdcage veil, pink diamond ring, the broach and rosette bouquets, the thumb prints of guests, the photobooth with family photo heirlooms, the hilariously entertaining couple’s dance, to even the details on the cake and topper (seriously look at this cake….everything on the cake resembles the wedding day!)…..it was all amazing!! Shelby Peaden and her team were beyond fantastic! Most fun of all…Ashley and Alex’s exuberant and lively personalities!! We seriously went home that evening with smiles on our faces!!

If my little boy, Brayden {Genya’s little girl Mia, like to tell everyone “his name is baby B, but we call him Brayden sometimes}, had been at Betsy and Justin’s Carillon Wedding…there is no doubt he would have gone nuts! Bubbles, paint, shakers, and glow rings are a sure way to captive any child…..and a quick way to get a party started with adults! As the guests arrived, they were greeted with a giant canvas, paint, and brushes…all for them to leave their mark which would later be hung in Betsy and Justin’s home!! With The Fabulous Expressions keepin’ everyone’s feet on the dance floor, the couple made sure the guests kept their hands full of music shakers and glow rings! No sparklers or flower petals for this couple…it was bubbles galore! Yes, I’m confident little B would have had mini heart attached from all the excitement!

With all the bright, and cheery decor from Events by Nouveau Flowers, tasty meringue cake by Confections on the Coast, tasty ethnic food stations by Townsend Catering, and giggling banter with the couple, made for a wonderful night!

….Oh and the fact that my dress ripped clear up the back side also kept things a little interesting….thank goodness for leggings and my shootsac!

Things have been rather crazy around the studio as Genya’s computer finally took it’s last breath. We, the VUE chicks have officially become “Mac Mommas.” Yes, it is true…no longer can we be mocked for our oversize PC monitors! To say the least, switching from PCs to iMacs has been quite a task!

Amidst weddings season, crashing computers and well…life….VUE is in the process of rolling out a brand spanking new website that Spilled Milk Designs has been designing…..and they are totally rocking it!! We seriously can’t wait for the big reveal!!! While pulling magazine features, we realized we accidentally missed something very important!!!!! Last year Natalie and Kevin were featured in Emerald Coast Bride’s Magazine!!!! Hard to believe they have almost been married a year! For those who may be noobies to the VUE blog and those who would like to jog their memories, peek back over to Natalie + Kevin’s LOVELY Carillon Wedding!
