Engagement | Christina + Matt | Canton, OH

• I love love love when I get past bridesmaids as brides!!!  Not only do I get to see old clients again (WOO!) but I also just love it when my clients are already like friends from the get-go.  I adored Christina as soon as I met her and at Erin’s wedding she was the dream maid of honor!

• Christina has been a blog stalker so she knew right off the bat she wanted to go to the Canton Garden Center.  LOVE blog stalkers!  *waves to clients*  Seriously.  It’s flattering but I love it because you guys then already know what I do and know what you want.  Makes my job easy!

• Can we talk a second about how ridiculously adorable these two are?  Beyond that, they simply oozed love.  I cannot wait until their wedding in June if this is how much love was in the air at the engagement session.

• I am a bit obsessed with Christina’s coat.  STUNNING!!!  I’m so glad the day was cold because my life was made just a bit sweeter by seeing that coat.  LOVE!

• They brought their dog along for some images!!  YAY!  I also was able to sneak in a few portraits of her while she was out.

One of the things on Christina’s must-have list was an image of them walking together and being cute.  They are always some of my favorite images as well!

Just you wait, they will get cuter!

engagement portrait of couple kissing on bridge at canton garden center

Yep, I went back here again.  There’s a reason this place is so popular though, it’s gorgeous no matter what the season is.

I do have to change it up a bit from time to time and I really love this image I got of them on the bridge.

When I saw this image it took my breath away.  Hands down my favorite from the session.

This one though is also sigh worthy – see what I mean about them  being so darn cute?

I adore her ring!

The way they were holding hands I really loved so I took an image of just their hands and it is my second favorite from the day.

dog portrait in canton ohio

How cute is their dog?  Seriously.  I love her!!!

dog laughing in canton ohio

I swear that she is laughing at me here.  Can dogs laugh???  She’s thinking, crazy photographer you’ll never get an image of me, I’m too quick!  Ha!  I win!

I made some really bizarre noises that I knew gets dogs attention because my Dad always did it.  I used to joke that he was Doctor Dolittle because he had a way with animals.  I guess it still works because I got her attention!

Wedding | Melanie + Lance | North Canton, OH

View Photographer Profile

•  I’ve mentioned a time or two on here that I fall down a lot right??  Until this wedding, I have NEVER fallen at a wedding but I managed to do it twice during their portrait session at Canton Garden Center.  In my defense, it was snowy and I discovered my Crocs don’t grip quite as much as I thought they would.  Not only did I fall – I completely wiped out!  Feet out from under me and landing on my backside kind of fall.  Nothing was harmed besides my pride though (although I did have a few impressive bruises).  The snow also padded me which was nice!  Poor Melanie and Lance felt so bad but I thought it was hilarious and still laugh at myself when I look at their pictures.

•  There were a ton of kiddos at this wedding and it was quite fun because they all had such a blast!  They were very high energy and just a joy to watch shake it out on the dance floor.  By the end of the night there was a line of blankets along the wall and kids were crashed out.

•  I love when I have winter weddings because I personally think there are fewer things more beautiful than a forest after a snowfall.  Despite the falling, I’m so glad that Melanie and Lance went out with me into the snow for their pictures.  Some of my favorite images from a wedding session ever.

•  I have to give them props for braving the winter AND for thinking of their bridal party and choosing to go outside without them.  Isn’t that sweet??

Melanie gave lots of kisses to her flower girls before the wedding.

I love taking fisheye shots of the aisle at the North Canton Community Christian Church.

Random sidenote:  My mom went to this church as a kid and I used to sing here when I was a kid.  It’s fun to come back!

I love their expressions in this image!

My favorite bridge… in the snow!  I fell here to the right of them off the bridge.  Whoops!

It was a chilly day but Melanie was a trooper and decided to go without her coat!  *applause*

I loved that Melanie and Lance brought out their Pittsburgh Steelers jerseys for a few shots!

While I love setting up detail shots, my favorite detail shots are the ones I capture in action like this one!

I loved playing with their rings at the reception!

This little girl was a hoot to photograph!  She was literally in the air for almost every single image of her at the reception!!!

This groomsman was so awesome!  Not only was he great to work with (the entire bridal party was amazing!) but he could DANCE!  Here he is dancing to Michael Jackson’s Billy Jean and he knew every single move.  I want to take him with me to every reception because he is awesome!!!

Engagement | Melissa + Chris | Canton, Ohio

View Photographer Profile

  • Melissa and Chris are just so darn cute together.   It always takes people a few minutes to warm up to the camera but they put each other at ease so quickly that there was barely any warm up time needed.  Melissa makes Chris laugh and he makes her smile.  Warms my heart!
  • This summer has been one of the hottest and most humid I can remember in a long time.  While it’s great that I haven’t had many rainy sessions this year it also means that I’ve had a lot of sweaty subjects and let’s face it – it’s hard to be smiling and cheerful in front of the lens when you are dying of heat and have sweat pouring from your body!  Luckily for these guys this day was one of the first major breaks in the oppressive humidity and heat and it was a really great day for a shoot – low 80’s, light breeze and puffy clouds!
  • They were game for ANYTHING I suggested and never once gave me that “Corey… you are crazy!” look.
  • Oh yeah, of all days, their engagement session took place the same day as the Football Hall of Fame game.  Which meant that our meeting place was blocked off and we had to switch it up at the last minute.  We were able to later walk to the original spot (Canton Garden Center) and saw the reason behind it – all of the busses for the teams were parked there!  Kind of neat to see!  I got some looks from the roaming security truck but once he figured out I wasn’t paparazzi he went along his merry way.
  • Because of the game, we had the Goodyear Blimp circling us during the entire shoot!  That’s a new one for me!
  • Look for Melissa & Chris to return this November!

The Goodyear Blimp was the costar of the shoot!

My favorite from the session!

Melissa you are adorable!

Melissa specifically wanted this shot and that’s why we ended up where we did for pictures.  I know it’s been on here a million times but the light it so magical here!  I understand why so many love it!

Melissa and I noticed that our engagement rings are very very similar!  Love!

Second favorite.  Or most favorite… gah!  They are too cute so either way it’s LOVE!

I love, love, love Melissa’s shoes.  LOVE!!!  How adorable are they!!!!

Engaged: Jen + Chad

View Photographer Profile

  • I have been friends with Jen since the fourth grade.
  • I befriended her when she came to our school because when we would all bring our Barbie stuff to play with at recess, she had the best Barbies and Barbie loot and I needed to be BFFs with her.
  • We have remained friends over the years despite her Mom hating me (thanks to a mean teacher that told her I stole Jen’s homework, no joke – and no I didn’t!), one of her boyfriends hating me and her moving to Columbus.
  • You may recognize Jen from our trip to the New Kids on the Block concert.
  • Right around the time of the concert, she started becoming serious about this guy named Chad.  I was leery because she’s had some doozies of boyfriends in the past.  However, I already knew even just a month or so in that this guy was different… and I was right.
  • They are getting married this September and I GET TO BE A GUEST!
  • I cannot tell you how freakin’ excited I am to put the camera down at a wedding and just enjoy the day.
  • Of course, I will still HAVE my camera…. but I will be able to DANCE.
  • You know how hard it is for me to not shake it to the Cupid Shuffle?
  • So back to the couple…
  • It was a fun day and I finally got to meet Chad and he’s PERFECT for my friend.  PERFECT.  It makes my heart happy to know that she found THE one.
  • Can’t wait to see you guys in September (and hopefully sooner!).  Thanks for a great day!

I know I do this shot a lot but… I LOVE THIS SHOT.  So do my couples and they almost always request it when going here.  I wish I had an engagement shot like this of me and hubs!

Yay Lilacs!

One of my favorite ring shots, I love peonies.
