I cannot believe it has been over a year since I first met Liz & Vince for their engagement shoot! With a wedding anniversary in just 2 months (Halloween!!!)… They decided to take on the town for a Trash the Dress session. We went with two different ideas- first, using the movie theater from “The Notebook.” I emailed Liz to tell her that Target had popcorn buckets and we started to make a little story. I dodged a bit of traffic and they were great sports as usual!!! After the theater, we wandered some of downtown and a bit of the old-urban style homes. These made amazing backdrops with their old wood textures, broken windows and our trespassing skills (hey gotta do what you gotta do for the shot). Minus seeing a giant rat strolling across a rooftop lol, all went well, and once again these two rocked. I always miss them, Liz & Vince are two of the most loving AND fun couples I have had the pleasure to work with, and not just for the wedding, but THREE times now
. I’m hoping for a mini version of them sometime soon so I can visit with the camera again
… Sorry Liz
. Hope you two are enjoying Atlanta!

Sharing just a peek of all three Trash the Dress shoots from this past weekend in Charleston, South Carolina. Each client had such amazing style and an array of great shots… Liz and Vince hit down town for some vintage cinema theme and old backdrops, Mahailey invited me to her families property out in the beautiful country land… Finally, Bekah and Ryan beat the pending storm with some awesome beach shots. These are my favorite photo shoots, so I am thrilled (as usual) to share what’s in this image gold mine

It actually just occurred to me that Karen’s decor fits an interesting blend I was trying to pinpoint all evening. Being someone who is neither vintage or modern, I realized you can actually just… be both… and her taste for a vibrant, yet elegant wedding shows just that… Which is why I must have been so drawn to the colors and historic brick through out her reception.
The Historic Rice Mill Building in Charleston, SC is an amazing place to hold both a ceremony & reception, plus Karen & Cory lucked out with the perfect evening. The wind just gusting enough, the flowers more vibrant then usual, the sunset glowing upon the cocktail hour and a room filled with moments a photographer only hopes for! I had the chance to see a spark between these two that kept the evening warm and filled with love, it was simple to capture really because it was so natural.
Below are some of my favorites from this gorgeous evening and a slide show showing off even more moments with highlights of the decor. A special thank you to the newlyweds for sharing your special day with my camera & I
… I wish you both all the happiness life can offer.
The talent that made it all happen…
Hair/Makeup : Bellezza Spa and Salon *personal fave
Music : The Booty Call Band
Cake: Ashley Bakery
Reception/Ceremony Site/Catering : Historic Rice Mill, Good Food Catering
Names: Karen & Cory
Ages: Karen 29, Cory 31
What do you do for work? Karen – Interior Designer , Cory – Analyst

Aw a quick kiss between mom and dad!

What inspired your wedding decor, etc? I found a picture of this beautiful black and white cake in Instyle Weddings and that sparked my inspiration for the black and white theme with the pops of pink.
Love LOVE LOVE Karen’s ring… Tell us about your ring!: Beautiful oval cut diamond in a pave band
They had this amazing glow during their entire ceremony… Start to finish!!! I love this photo, it captures the essence of that exact feeling I could see through the lens… and I am sure all the guests noticed as well! Hmmm maybe it’s love
.

How was the Honeymoon? We spent two weeks of complete relaxation in the British Virgin Islands. The kind of relaxation where you forget what day of the week it is! I successfully completed my scuba certification while we were out there and we spent three days diving.
If you could relive one moment from your wedding what would it be? walking down the aisle and seeing Cory’s face again.
Oh how I wish there was a way to get this point across… but once again the infamous response… If there was something you know now, that you can share with other brides what would it be? The day of allow plenty of time to relax…you will be running 15 minutes late no matter what you do
A mama son moment

Would you have changed anything? nothing… It was an amazing day!
