Tanner hated taking pictures, but now- he swears he is a model, ha ha. I think Lauryn just makes him look good
. (Just kidding Tanner, you did great!). Seriously, I can’t wait to show off Lauryn’s bridals after the wedding- stunning!

This post is geared towards my photographer friends who drop by to check out the blog (which we are very grateful for!).
I posted the following teaser image on our facebook fan page earlier today. A few people left some nice comments about how creative and artistic our images are. We are flattered by the kind words. I just wanted to make a small post encouraging my friends in the wedding industry to make an asserted effort to keep your work fresh. It’s not always easy, especially when the calendar is loaded with portrait session after portrait session.
One thing I love to do is find out what hobbies my couples enjoy. You never know when inspiration may hit. One of our goals is to try and show our client’s personalities off in the images we capture. A great way of doing this is to build their session around things that matter to them. Not only does this help portray their unique personality in the final image, but it also helps you stay creative as an artist by forcing you to shoot different scenarios. Brick walls and pretty doorways can only go so far. Dig into your client’s personality to find something that will help you create a unique series of images that really show off who they are as a couple.
Andrew and Ariel love the outdoors. We shot their engagement session at Andrew’s home in Gardner, LA, which is situated in a beautiful wooded area. Knowing how much he loves Ariel and how much he loves canoeing, the inspiration for this shot came very easily. It’s really not that hard to find inspiration when the personality of your client is more important than the background, pose, or location.
