Ben and Bethany | On Film

View Photographer Profile

A few weeks ago I had the awesome chance to shoot alongside the oh-so-talented Jessica Wright! We’ve both been wanting to get out and shoot more on film, and Ben and Bethany were so gracious to let us drag them all over Old Baker Farm down in Harpersville. We had some gorgeous light that day, and that, paired with a gorgeous couple, made for some great shots!

Many thanks to the folks out at Richard Photo Lab, who continue to roll out the film for us despite our constant confused emails and questions! These images were shot with a Contax 645 using Kodak Portra 400NC film. Here’s a few of my favorite frames!

Jessica’s a photographer too, and a darn good one. I assisted her with a bridal session at the Jemison Gallery the other day, and she was kind enough to let me shoot a quick portrait. Check out her work here …. Jessica Wright Photography.

Continuing with “film month” here at Gresham Photography, I wanted to post a few B&W shots that Stacey captured during Miranda and Rob’s engagement session last Fall. I’m a fan …

A Bryan Photo Workshop | On Film

View Photographer Profile

workshop0000

As we mentioned a few posts ago, I had the amazing opportunity to attend one of Bryan Johnson’s workshops recently here in Birmingham. Bryan work is a constant inspiration to Stacey and I, and I felt truly blessed to spend a couple of days with him and some other amazing photographers from around the world. Here’s a couple of quick snippets from day two of the workshop, when we all headed out to the Sonnet House for a little shooting.

Our models for the day were Branden and Lindsey Lower (Check out some of Branden’s 8mm work for A Bryan Photo … it’s off the hook), as well as Bob and Allison Miller. Bob is a ridiculously talented photographer. Seriously. Check out is work here.

So on with the pictures …

(These were all shot with the Contax 645, 80mm 2.0 lens, and Kodak film.)

P.S. – If you haven’t had a chance to take a workshop from either Bryan or Jonathan …. it’s a MUST next time they have one. Ridiculously inspiring. Stayed tuned for a few portraits I had the opportunity to shoot of Bryan and his family!

Jonathan and Bryan | Film Gurus

We finally got around to getting our film scanned in from the A Bryan Photo Workshopw we attended awhile back, as well as some other sessions from the end of 2009. I have to admit, I was pretty excited about some of the images we captured. Don’t have time now for a full post, but wanted to share a quick favorite of the amazing Jonathan Canlas and Bryan Johnson … two of the best film photographers out there … as well as two big inspirations for Stacey and me …
