In the spirit of birthdays, I am all about birthday party themes and kid party ideas as of late. Not that I am going to be throwing myself a party anytime soon, but I have been looking at ideas for Harrison's first birthday party. Yes, it's a little under six months away but it's never too early to start planning and brainstorming creative ideas.
I also have plans to offer a new service with my business that will include photographing kids' parties! Stay tuned for more on that later this spring.
But when planning anything crafty, my first go-to source is of course Martha herself. (I love referring to her on a first name basis as if she's an ole' pal of mine). But for this series, I have sought inspiration from both MarthaStewart.com and Better Homes and Gardens. Great resources for anything crafty!
Here's the first party theme idea that I completely fell in love with. I am a big fan of bandanas. I just love the variety of colors, the designs, the versatility... all of it. I'm actually in the process of making a bandana quilt/throw. Granted, it's a very long work in progress but I love how it's turning out. I had purchased a bunch of bandanas from eBay in bulk a few years back and have been slowly piecing them together to make what I hope to be a very cozy and funky blanket for snuggling on the couch.
So, here's Martha's take on using bandanas for a birthday party. This is definitely a big contender for Harrison's party. We'll see!
