Moms of pre-school girls better watch out, because I have a real heartbreaker today! We had so much fun photographing Charlie. At 5 years old, he’s already a super cool dude and was a treat to photograph, especially after a day of shooting a few rambunctious toddlers. We were able to get some great expressions from him, and I love his big, soulful, brown eyes. Look through this set, and tell me this kid shouldn’t be on a tv show or have a modeling contract. What a cutie.
Don’t forget to vote for Charlie and the other kids in our Facebook contest. You can vote once a day!
Courtney + Andrew + Logan found the very best day of the week to venture out to a favorite location of Logan’s for exploring, playing, walking, and enjoying the peacefulness of nature. Needless to say, following a three-year-old through the woods and around streams is definitely a workout, but it was incredibly fun and so worth it. It was an incredible privilege to capture meaningful photos for this happy family.
so i’ve been an etsy fan lately. well i’ve always been a fan, but i’ve been skimming through the site and “pinning” my favorite ideas and i came across THIS idea! i’ve been needing some wall decor for the kitchen and thought this would look CAHHute in a white mat and 8×10 frame! on the etsy website, just to get a print of this puppy was $25 (not including shipping) and then add in the cost of the frame! probably would’ve run me close to $40. so for about a week now, i’ve been brainstorming what i could to make this! i had some left over credit on a vector website (from the business) and purchased the state of maine illustrator file. made it all white, saved it and then re-opened in photo-shop and change colors and added the heart (a free FONT i downloaded). i wanted it simple, but of course i had to write out maine. cute?! now printing. i would print it off at home, except it would take 100 gallons of ink and that stuff is expensive! so i’m going to print it at staples for .59 tomorrow and buy a cheapo frame & mat and hang it up in the kitchen! my budget is no more then $10, so i’m saving $30 bucks! cheya!
i’ll hopefully have a second tomorrow to print and get the materials and i’ll take a picture! my husband is still talking about moving out to the mid-west..and if God decides to open doors in the future, i’ll def. be hanging this up in my kitchen! there’s no place like home
in all this took me 1 hour to make. don’t judge..i’m no illustrator expert. actually when i took the class in college, i cringed at the idea of illustrator every time the professor mentioned or made us work in it! yuck!
i went with browns, because my kitchen is rustic maine theme. you know.. bears, moose and rustic wood.
Well, this week was a wash. I am still debating as to whether or not I should actually publish this, but I am now pretty sure I had an ovarian cyst burst on Tuesday. This was not something that was in my plan for the week.
So instead of doing all of the things I wanted to do (work, fun, and list-checking-off wise), I watched tv on the couch all week (it got pretty bad. I even resorted to The Rachael Ray Show for thirteen weak and senseless minutes) and had to move some plans around. Boo.*

[Who knows if this was acceptable to post on a photography blog or not. But...I no longer follow what is "supposed" to be put on our blog anymore anyway, right? ]
Will started feeling bad for me and my week-long pathetic-looking fetal position and unwashed hair/unfortunate pajama situation, so he got me this:
I maaaay have suggested the cookie cake and may not have let up on the idea for an hour or two until he finally relented, but the funny words were his idea (my birthday was in October).
So, sadly we didn’t get much editing in and I had to rely on Will for a lot (yes, he did bring me my contact case and solution every day. But isn’t that normal? Heehee). After five days of what became REALLY boring really quickly, I think the worst is over. So I can get back to what I love most, which would be posting new weddings on our blog and moving around the pretty new furniture we just got for the studio to many different positions and then making Will move them back when I inevitably get tired of the heavy lifting. Heeheehee…. I’m not sure why Will doesn’t think it’s as fun as I do. He’ll learn. Ooh! Maybe we’ll even go lamp shopping this week! Yeah….
And now, I just get to be super-thankful that my uterus is back to normal and don’t have that kind of thing happen very often! You ladies who have ovarian issues and other annoying things happen that get in the way of life are my heroes. I was not cut out for that nonsense!
As for our blog, it is back to weddings, and you should be excited…I’ve got SEVEN new ones in the queue that I am dying to share. Hopefully we’ll be able to post all of them pretty soon! That is the plan. They were all SUPER-pretty and fun.
Have a wonderful Sunday! I look forward to a beautiful week and a GORGEOUS weekend next Saturday as Amanda and Michael have a fabulous Dallas wedding we’ve been excited about for months! Yeee-it is going to be SOOO pretty! Yaaay, wedding week, Amanda and Michael!!
XOXO,
Lauren
PS-That was an iphone picture. Just so you know.
*At least the Dr. Phil Family was on one day. I’ve gotta say, that family is my FAVORITE to watch on Dr. Phil. I really need to get a DVR for the “special episode” that is coming on in two weeks (I know, we are quite behind the times in that area. We’re too lazy to call Dish to set it up. I so should not have admitted that). If you know what I am talking about, what were YOU doing home watching Dr. Phil?? Haha.
Emily is one of our Bambino Babies and she is growing up so quickly! Her parents brought the cutest little outfits for her and she looks absolutely adorable in all her pictures! I especially love her pearls!
