I love Monday’s when you actually receive fun emails like one of your weddings is being featured that day. We did not hide our feelings for the gorgeous city of Charleston, SC and we certainly did not hide our feelings about Corey and Tim’s stunning good looks and sweet natures.
Indeed, Weddings Unveiled also fell in love with them and have featured their beautiful plantation wedding today. Do go leave them some love and congrats!

So Melanie and I began our relationship in one of those weird twists of fate of the wedding industry. Last year Ryan and I took a getaway to NYC in November and while we were there we did a shoot for the amazing Ruffled blog on make-up trends. The models also happened to be adorned with gorgeous fascinators made by none other than Melanie of One Little Dove.
Thus began my relationship with Melanie and a series of small shoots I have done for her of her headpieces. Along the way her wedding photographer, the amazingly talented and UBBER sweet Heather Espana and I got hooked up over twitter (yes social networking at it’s best!) Our relationship grew and she asked if I would 2nd shoot for her for Melanie’s wedding in NYC. Yes please! It was so great to get us all in the same room after many, many months of viral correspondence and phone calls. It was a stellar weekend with a memorable and dramatic ending in Times Square…one Heather can testify to. Let’s just say I am so glad I am not dying and I was just pregnant and didn’t know. It was a morning I will never forget!
Now before you get drooling on all the amazing details, I need to share with you that Melanie is wearing her something blue wedding gown designed by Project Runway’s Leanne Marshall. Not only is it the most amazing shade of blue, but it fits her like a glove. I’m not gonna lie, I was glued to that season of Project Runway and so loved Leanne’s style.
About the day, in the bride’s words:
“David and I aren’t very formal people, so we set out to have a sweet, silly, homegrown, do-it-together wedding. we were married at Queens County Farm Museum, which is one of our favorite places; it’s the only working farm within New York city limits, and it was the perfect mix of rural and urban for our laid-back wedding.”

I LOVE that all her bridesmaids wore not only different styles but different shades of green. Such a lovely pallet of color.

Only a sister picks your teeth.

All three beautiful sisters.

The gorgeous bouquet. Her bridesmaid’s fascinator made by Melanie herself.

One of my favorite quirky details of the day was the bridal party playing “Here Comes the Bride” on kazoos!

Outside the barn reception an adorable little photobooth was set up.

Seriously, good stuff is it not? I just adore this wedding, I adore Melanie and David and I adored working with Heather Espana.
Below is a list of all the DIY’s that Melanie and David did for their wedding.
veil & bridesmaid’s flower fascinator
favors (we wrapped chocolates with patterned paper & made heart cutouts)
guest book (i took a leather photo album, glued tiny envelopes into it, and guests were asked to leave us notes on small cards, which are now tucked into the envelopes)
napkins (we used striped, herringbone-patterned bar mops)
flowers (my sister rebecca did all of the bridesmaids’ bouquets & reception flowers on the morning of… phew!
eating tags, flags, table numbers (made using great patterned paper found at paper source, kate’s paperie and paper mojo)
If you can’t get enough of this wedding, please go and see Heather Espana’s post on her blog and our Wedding Chicks feature here.

Hello Goooorgeous! :o) This is the reason why I tell everybody to get pregnancy photos done! Ladies … I don’t care if you get them done with me or somebody else (I am not much of a sales person), BUT get them done!!! It’s such a special time in your life … and you’ll have some beautiful photos to look at + to show to your kids some years down the road.
Alexis was one of my gorgeous 2009 brides, …. let’s say it was no surprise to anybody she’d be a gorgeous soon-to-be-mommy too …. but I think this is taking it to a whole new level! ;o)
I hope you enjoy your photos Alexis! :o) … 37 more days to go!
I could not choose a favorite photo, you just looked beautiful in pretty much all of them, but this one is definitely very high on my list: :o)
