After the nerves, the festivities, the vacation and settling into your home together as a newly married couple, many get so busy that they find it hard to put together a finished product for their photography. We try to make it super simple. You pick the pictures and we take care of the rest! Our albums are hand made and hand designed. No templates as layouts and no machine putting your book together. 100% handcraft really makes the difference and helps our environment too. Here is our latest album design so you can get an idea of how our books look.

My husband Igor has an obsession with flying vehicles. Maybe more than an obsession; could be more like a love affair. From remote control airplanes to military aircraft, he could talk for hours and hours on end. He’s the tech guru and can tell you specs and speeds and models and engines and all that stuff that I know nothing about. He shows me the videos of military planes dropping hummers and supplied by parachute and teaches me what negative G’s mean. As far as I am concerned, I love airplanes too, but for all of the opposite reasons. I love the feeling at takeoff when you’re speeding down the runway faster than you could imagine doing in a car and the very moment when the wheels aren’t touching the ground anymore. I love the sound of the F16 2 seconds after it passes you and you can feel the vibration throughout your ears and your heart. I love the twirls and the simple beauty of seeing something man-made flying. I love the way some planes are painted like sharks. And this works for us. We each point out the things that the other one just doesn’t see or know and together, it’s one heck of an experience. Today Igor and I took our two kids to the Rhode Island National Guard Air Show and it was just awesome! Here are just a few of the things that we saw.

When I first met David and Tatyana, I could tell that they were really in love. They were opposites that embraced their differences and balanced each other out. David, lounged on the chair as Tatyana sat upright, legs crossed and hands together ready to talk about all the plans. They glanced loving looks at each other constantly and were always able to finish each others thoughts. Completely on the same page. Ball games and beer versus purses and shoes and what a perfect match it made. A sunny engagement shoot at Elizabeth Park was their choice and here are some images from their session. I am eagerly awaiting their September 2011 wedding! Congratulations David & Tatyana!

Standing with one arm holding a shutter and the other jingling a stuffed animal with a bell inside while mom is jumping in the background trying to get the attention of a little wee one. Typical sight at a portrait shoot. Problem? Where does the little one look? Problem solved. B&H is offering these super cute camera creatures complete with a squeaker! Are these not the cutest darn things ever?

On a beautiful sunny day, two people shared whispers and giggles on the alter as they promised to love each other until the end of time. A love with laughter is one that is sure to last a long time! With a twinkle in their eyes and a kiss in their hearts, they held hands and walked eagerly into this new chapter in their book of life. What an honor we had to capture such a special day. Thank you Kathleen and Kevin. Here are some images from Kathleen and Kevin’s wedding day.

As I sat at my computer screen editing away and scheduling my life, I felt a sudden urge to make some changes. As some may know, I was dealt an interesting and unique deck in life and becoming a wedding and portrait photographer was something that I stumbled upon by chance. Or really by God’s grace as it has been one of the greatest blessings my life has seen. I taught myself the ins and outs of the profession and through practice, research and more practice, got to where I was and was very very happy there. But on this one day as I sat at the computer screen, I said to myself, “I want more. More for me, more for my kids, and more for my clients.” I decided in that instant to go back to college and complete my degree in art and photography. A degree that had been hanging over my head for 12 years. A degree that I feared my children would tell me that they would never get because I hadn’t. A degree that would challenge my photography ideas and teach me new things to make me a better photographer for, well, you! After 2 years of studying, I am pleased to say that I did it! I just graduated this past May with my art degree and I feel so much better equipped to create art and beautiful images for all of the fantastic people who trust me to do just that. In those 2 years, I dappled with many topics ranging from photojournalism, conceptual art, movement, and even travel to Italy! I wanted to share some of my adventures with all of you. Here is a very small sampling of what my experience taught me. Enjoy! It’s so good to be back!
