I had an absolute blast hanging out with Caitlyn & Johnny in Stonington a few weeks back for their engagement session. They had so many awesome ideas and cool props, I was like a kid in a candy store!! I mean, come on – look at the size of that balloon! Both Amber and I are super stoked for their wedding at Harkness State Park in a few weeks.
Duuude – Johnny & Caitlyn KILLED IT!!!! Absolute fave photo evah!

Alright people….time to make up for lots of blog neglect. Prepare yourself for all kinds of yummy images and blog posts!! First, we have the Calice & Vincent who decided to shoot their engagement photos in NYC to capture the few years they spent there while studying at NYU. In just a few days they’ll be leaving behind their totally kick-a** apartment in Washington Square and flying half way around the world to have their wedding and start a new life in Taiwan. We started shooting in Central Park which as many of you may know I have done countless times with lots of different couples and families. But I was super psyched when Vincent told me he’d be bringing his huge bass! We busted out the flash in true Raw Photo Style and rocked the bass all over Central Park – so fun!!
We ended the session back at Washington Square and then b-lined to the West Village where Vincent & Calice hang out all the time. Obviously the best part about playing bass is jamming in a grungy jazz club until the wee hours of the morning! So, we headed over to Fat Cat in the West Village, played pool, rocked some more flash, and listened to some deep bass lines courtesy of some serious local talent.

Believe it or not we already have two people registered for August 19 and we’ll only be taking 3 more. Five spots are open for September 23rd and believe it or not but that’s how large the class gets…..only 5 people! We ensure limited class sizes so everyone gets hands-on experience throughout the entire day.
August 19 will focus heavily on off-camera flash in relation to weddings. So if you’re curious as to how we apply our lighting techniques to the craziness of a wedding day schedule than definitely do NOT miss this class. We’ll be featuring lots of behind the scene snapshots of actual weddings and discuss our reasoning behind each and every technique and set-up.

Definitely my fave of the whole day! (Yes, that’s Amber….our poor model got sick right in the beginning of the shooting and Amber jumped in to save the day!)
Here is a great example of what flash can do and the options that open up. Here is one pose in natural light without any flash used.
Here is practically the same pose, same exact time of day, and same ambient light. There is nothing wrong with the natural light photo, understanding how to use flash just gives you more options on how to take your images to the next level.
Love this shot I grabbed of Amber still teaching while modeling at the same time!!

The White Silo Farm and Winery in Litchfield Country is pretty & picturesque, quintessential New England. I love how quaint the little town of Sherman is, and it was the perfect location for Megan, John and their pups. Enjoy your images guys, can’t wait for your wedding this fall!

Eric Langlois (“lang-lou-ah”), my husband (the photographer guy), is Canadian…
French was even his first language…awwww (his mom loves to tell people that).
What does that mean? It means we get to take an annual trip to Sherbrooke, Quebec, so that our kids can see their
A-MAZING Great-Grandparents, we can eat Poutine, visit relatives and cousins to brush up on our French, and do as the Canadian’s do with lots of playtime, swimming, riding on quads, visiting local farms, drinking wine at lunch, Labatt Bleue at dinner, and eating lots of yummy Canadian food. Our kids are so happy there, we disconnected (I am sure you noticed), because family has gotta be what it is all about for this boat to float.
This trip, especially with Eric’s mom was really special for us, the weather was gorgeous, we shot a cousin’s Trash the Dress in Montreal (killer), we had quality time with the most important people in our lives.
And I must say how much we really appreciate the patience of all of our “out of this world” clients that allowed us to reset.
Below are some favorite images from our trip, the kids totally nailed their rockstar faces (take notes)! And tough question, which one do you think gets the vote for this year’s Christmas card? I really cannot pick a favorite!
So, we visited the COOLEST zoo on the planet, the Granby Zoo, in Granby, Quebec. This place would never legally fly in the US. First of all, it is a Waterpark/Zoo (genius) and they have very few (if any) rules about the animals…so they pretty much stroll right along with you. Ryder was riding a pig at one point, and I felt like I was on another planet, but, anyway, this moment below was precious! Avery put her hand up to the glass and this furry little guy came right over and put his hand up to match. Priceless.
Here’s Ryder showing Ma Tante Lucille the magic of Silly Bandz, don’t worry, before we left the kids made sure the relatives all had one to show off at the senior center.
Avery & Ryder’s adorable little cousin Sara….hearing her speak French was possibly the cutest thing I have ever heard.
Grammie and Pop-Pop! Someday they are going to build a statue of this lady, she runs circles around me – that is for sure. And whenever we stay with her, she does not allow the kids to wake us up in the morning, she loves children, and enjoys every minute with them, so this is her rule. I suggest if you do not have a lady like this in your life – go get one, she is such an inspiration and totally responsible for us getting so much rest!
What do you do when you go to a cheese farm?
You eat Out of This World cheese.
What do you do after that?
You take a rockstar picture with the cows…
Fromagerie La Station in Compton, Quebec is a little nugget of serious goodness. If you like cheese, go there.
And…take pictures with the cows.

The wave pool was a huge hit with these 3, I could barely get them out!
Good times! We are back, and ready to rock and roll!

My extremely talented, super fun, super cool cousin, Heidi Bundy has a very sweet cousin, Lauren on her other side. Through Heidi’s wedding in Florida a few years ago, and family functions, my sister and I have had the pleasure of getting to know Lauren. She is adorable and really fun, and we jumped at the chance to photograph her and her fiance Bryan at Hopkins Vineyard, a stunning little winery tucked into the Litchfield Hills in Warren, CT. If you have not been to winery at Hopkins Vineyard, I highly recommend taking a ride, visiting their wine bar for a tasting, and checking out the scenery of Lake Waramaug. Hopkins Vineyard is also part of the Connecticut Wine Trail, quintessential New England (especially if you like wine as much as I do). Enjoy your engagement images guys, you did a great job!

So…I think this lady just officially earned herself “wife of the year”, actually more like “BEST WIFE EVER”. You with me? She contacted me a few weeks ago, and in her exact words she told me that her hub “prefers your style over many other photographers”. Hmm, it was a tight timeline, but I can’t resist a fan, so we made a plan for me to shoot her session (Eric was all booked up) and get her images retouched in time for their 1 year anniversary – today, June 27th! We didn’t have time to design an album (yet), so we thought dedicating a blog post to Jeff would be an awesome surprise. Best part is, the day before her session I received a Facebook friend request from Jeff, and a message that said “I have been meaning to introduce myself to you guys. I have been following your blog for over a year now. Great work!! I actually wanted to ask you what you guys charge for Boudoir shots? I know a couple of engaged couples and they were asking me about it. I asked Steve Depino (buddy) and he wasn’t sure. But you guys rock! And your stuff is just awesome!! Glad we are friends now!”
How cool is that? He reached out to me for pricing the day before his wife has a session with us…and he had no idea. I love surprises! I digress, back to the images.

Sara & Chris are famous for keeping the most still anyone has ever been during the heavily requested, “that photo at grand central with everyone moving in it but the couple isn’t…” 
Huge thanks to Nicole Taylor & Joanne Vandal for helping us out at this amazingly intimate and perfect wedding in South Salem, New York. Sara & Chris’ day was filled with family traditions, personal touches, and heart-warming moments that we could not have been more fortunate to be a part of. Even more awesome is the fact that Chris is an avid (and super talented!) photographer and we’re always especially grateful when one of our fellow photo-geeks invites us to cover one of the most important days of their lives. Congrats to both of you and hope you loved your honeymoon in Turkey!
