MARIA & TOM {MARRIED}

Tom and Maria were married on a very wet and rainy Father’s Day. It stopped blowing the rain drops for about 10 minutes while we did their pictures, but I tell ya, I was cursing out Mother Nature all day. I am thankful that we were able to do a few shots outside though. The rain however did not dampen Maria and Tom’s spirits. They had a blast regardless. What a beautiful wedding!

new concepts in wedding video!

I just stumbled across this out there on the interwebs, and had to share - never seen anything quite like it! Created by the wicked-awesome lockdown projects in the UK. It seems like it would be a LOT of work to actually achieve this on a wedding day - but what a fun result! enjoy!

Shane & Adam

I cried THREE times at Shane & Adams wedding!! Three TIMES! ;) I shoot weddings all the time but somehow it never gets old for me. Every couple is unique and has a different way of projecting their love for one another... I love that; it keeps things interesting. At every wedding, with every couple, I am reminded of ways I can love my Chris a little better :) One thing I was reminded of from & Adam is to not take life to seriously and embrace the QUIRK within each of us.

Shane & Adam's wedding was one of the most sincere, genuine and authentic displays of love that I have seen. During the ceremony when Adam said his vows to Shane, the simple words of... "This ring is beautiful... just like you" just opened the flood gates for me. So simple, but so tender and so very sweet. It didn't help that Shane's maid of honor/sister was up there with big ol' elephant tears rolling down her cheeks throughout the course of the ceremony ;) Shane and Adam are VERY loved.

We had the opportunity to work with some of our favorite vendors in Seattle at this wedding which made it extra fun. Jesse & Travis with True Colors Events coordinated the event flawlessly, and the party was hopin' thanks to Austin Beaver with Nite Lite Entertainment. And the details! And the details were to die for! The flowers! the cake! Oh-me-oh-my the cake, was modeled after a roller coaster! Shane & Adam love theme parks and roller coasters so much that they are going around the nation on a road trip stopping in at different theme parks to check out different roller coasters. So they incorporated that into the overall theme of their wedding. Each table place card was the name of a different roller coaster. How cool is that?!

Shane & Adam we hope you guys are having a great time on your "round-the-nation-rollercoaster-honeymoon!" We love you guys!

Married: Jenna and Doug 06.20.09

Jenna and Doug were the first couple to book me for 2009 last year so it feels like I have been waiting for this wedding to happen forever! Last September we met up for some engagement portraits near where their wedding would be (and encountered a family of deer making this still one of my favorite engagement shoots!) which helped with the waiting for their wedding to take place. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect for their wedding day – sunny and not a drop to be seen anywhere. So far *knocks on wood* my brides have all been VERY lucky when it comes to rain on Saturdays! I started off the day with the girls and my assistant Nicole headed over with the guys and dodged nurf darts as they played around before they had to get dressed. The ceremony was held on Baldwin-Wallace campus and the church was GORGEOUS and modern. We were able to stay in the area for pictures afterward which always isn’t an option but the grounds are gorgeous! The cocktail hour – one of the nicest I’ve seen – and reception were held at the Sheraton at the airport. The party went all night long and NEVER hit the ‘boring’ stage thanks to some seriously awesome DJ-ing by Troy Entertainment. The most important part of the day of course though was Jenna and Doug getting married because once you meet them, you instantly see that they are perfect for each other.

Thanks so much to you both for choosing me to capture your day and I hope that you enjoyed your honeymoon!

Vendors
Ceremony: Lindsay Crossman Chapel
DJ: Troy Entertainment
Reception/Catering: Airport Sheraton Hotel

Nicole got this awesome image of the guy’s array of cologne sitting out while they were getting ready.

Nicole also got this shot of the Nerf guns.

One of the ringbearer’s got stage fright so the first one down the aisle came back, took his hand and walked him down = priceless!

The dip & kiss! Gotta love it!

This chapel was so gorgeous!

I walked out of the chapel and this is pretty much how the groomsman were already standing, I just moved a couple of them and shot. Easiest pose ever and one of my favorite groomsman pics ever!

My favorite shot of the two of them from the day.

Jenna was such a beautiful bride, I really adore this bridal shot of her.

They had bubble guns to keep the kids occupied during the reception and I loved the way this little girl was entranced by the bubbles and the bokeh the bubbles made.

I left just as Troy Entertainment was digging into their bag of tricks – one of them being this lit jacket which I adored – and so did Jenna. She took it from Doug and boogied around in it until it became too hot for her to wear. Every few songs or so to keep things interesting the DJ would pull a new trick out of his sleeve. I LOVED it! So much fun from a photographer’s standpoint!

Next up… NEW KIDS! Woo hoo!

Summer Heat

The heat of the summer in Texas always throws me. It makes me want to do absolutely nothing, including pick up my heavy camera or sit in front of my computer in my overheated office, typing a blog entry. But I will try to persevere one day at a time. The boys seem to prefer popcorn and corn on the cob, but I think that popsicles are the answer.

Rachel + Scott | Married… Part 2

So here is part 2 of Rachel and Scott's wedding! Yesterday I posted mostly pics of the two of them, so today I will share some of the getting ready, details, and reception. Here are some of the vendors that did an awesome job!

Cake: Buzz Bakery

DJ: C and J Entertainment

Cellist: Kate Chambers

Caterer: Custom Catering

Venue: Collingwood Museum and Library

Rachel and her ladies all got ready at Hotel Monaco in Arlington (did you know that one is opening in Baltimore this month?) Gorgeous and super fun place. Can't wait until Brooks and Nicole's wedding there this September!!!

Rachel got the height gene... so she opted for no heels... super cute and comfy flops!

A koozie for the occasion...

Face map from the makeup artist... pretty cool! I should probably study it so that I can make my makeup pretty!

Thank you bags for the guests....

Fun colors for a fun pic!

Gorgeous day at the Collingwood Museum and Library!

And the handsome groom!

Rachel's dad just melts her heart....and she his. Love this sweet moment...

Ok... so I thought this was great! Devon has clearly been in weddings! She walked down that aisle with confidence and smiles, waved at the crowd....

Smiled for the camera... Nice work Devon!

Rachel and Scott did First Glance, so it was sooooo incredibly sweet to see the emotion on her face when she came down the aisle. Clearly Scott is her perfect match!

Here is Rachel's expression while her dad gave the toast...

And a koozie for the other portion of the day! They came prepared!

We grabbed a few night shots... It was a great moment for Rachel and Scott to spend a few moments together.

And it is always fun to see some of the fun new moves that people share!

Now these guys were too funny!
