Yes. We are shameless.
It’s fundraiser time for Merrik’s school! We know that all of our local blog readers are jumping at the opportunity to buy more goodies from another kid, right! Well, we didn’t want to send her to your door because we know that can be annoying- and those Girl Scouts already have the market covered. (Tagalongs- whatever!). So we thought we would invade your web time instead (you’re probably at work anyways- so at least we aren’t making you get up from the couch to answer the doorbell- right?)
To order, simply send a paypal payment to mark@markeric.net for the proper amount (we’ll cut a check to the school). In the notes, please include your name, phone number, item, and quantity of each item that you’d like. When they come in, we’ll give you a call- and we’ll even deliver them around Alexandria and Pineville (with camera in hand, of course!). If you live anywhere else in the world, you can still order! You can come pick them up, or we can just donate the items to the local food bank on your behalf.

Oh man. There are some photographers (like me!) who you would need to drag kicking and screaming to get in front of the camera. Amanda McMahon is totally not one of those people! And although she prefers life behind the lens as a wedding and family portrait photographer in Titusville, she needed a couple quick pictures [...]

A cutie bride, a smoldering groom and a crazy dog. Ummm…yes, please.
SUCH a fun morning with Chelsea, Jacob and Burk. We hit all sorts of spots in Austin and had a great time. I cannot wait for their April wedding at Vista West Ranch – it’s going to be so fun!!!

On a rare and beautiful sunny February day, Mark & Brianne got married.
They are so in love.
And they make me fall more in love with what I do.
Mark & Brianne were married at Bethany Community Church in Greenlake and their reception was at Georgetown Studios. It was a bit of a reunion for me because Mark’s older sister was one of my best friends growing up, so I loved getting to see his parents & family again. Somewhere in his parent’s attic is video of my very first days playing basketball. I hope no one ever finds them…
Their ceremony & reception were as relaxed & elegant as they are, and the day flew by before I even knew it. This wedding had all of the elements of the perfect wedding…beautiful lighting, a relaxed atmosphere, a fun photo booth, sushi, homemade pies, and cherished family. I loved how Mark & Brianne honored their family. Brianne’s beautiful bouquet had mini photos of both their granddads & a small map of Haiti, where Brianne has spent some time living & working and is so dear to her heart. Mark had his grandpa’s cufflinks on and his first dance with his mom was to “You are My Sunshine.” Featuring his sweet dad on the harmonica. I don’t think there was a single dry eye among the moms there…myself included.
Thank you so much for having me, Mark & Brianne! I had so much fun at your wedding and enjoyed every moment. Hopefully these photos will take the edge off of returning to real life now that you are home from Bali!

We had the great pleasure of photographing the Berenz family this past Sunday. Brian, Amber and little Owen did a fantastic job and were so easy to work with! Owen is 10 and a half months old...and honestly, couldn't be any cuter. Andrew and I photographed Amber's sister, Anna's wedding a couple of years ago...and this June we'll be photographing Brian's brother, Andrew's wedding! In our industry referrals are the best compliment...so we feel so very fortunate to continue to work with the family and friends of our past and present clients. Here are a few of our favorite pictures from the session...Enjoy!
Okay...I mean seriously! Owen is one cute baby!

Owen was a bit serious during the session...but we were able to get a few great smiles. I love his expression in this one. I don't think he was quite sure why these people were pointing big cameras at him.

Smoosh!

There is that serious face again. I'm pretty sure Andrew gets this same expression from me when he trys really hard to be funny...but fails miserably! HA! :)

They are such a cute family!

I love this one of little Owen...

Owen has the best head of hair!

Mom and Dad...

There's a smile!

We were having a lot of fun playing in the grass...

I stole little Owen while Andrew grabbed a few shots of Amber and Brian. They are so adorable together!

Brian and Amber - Thank you so much for opening your lives to us for this session. You have such a beautiful family and we feel so fortunate to capture some of these memories for you! We can't wait to see how much bigger Owen is in June for Erin and Andrew's wedding!
Take Care - Jessica (and Andrew too!) :)

Holy cow I loved this wedding.
In fact, I like it so much that it's been impossible for me to blog! So many great and fun images. But I just had to get it on here, so I made my picks and here we go!
Kelli + Bryan had an awesome wedding in Manassas. They are so laid back and sweet. They are young and fun and ready to take on the world. Bryan is in the Air Force so airplanes dotted the decor... who knew they could be pretty?!

Brace yourself everyone….2010 weddings have officially begun! I think it’s safe to say, it’s going to be a year full of stunning decor, jaw dropping brides , scrumptious cakes, and fond memories! Here is a peek at Aimee and Brad’s wedding from this past weekend at Carillon {Carillon Weddings by Victoria}. Next week we’ll post the whole shebang and be sure to satisfy the rest of your craving!!

Well, my first due date was March 1 - but I guess my "official due date" was March 6. Either way I am overdue and patiently awaiting the birth of my sweet baby girl. It is so hard to sit and think it could happen at any moment.
During my wait I'm taking a bit of time for myself. I'm finishing up a few projects in the studio and getting closer to finishing her nursery. The image below is a collage of some of the things in her room. The theme is birdies surrounded in soft pink and buttercup yellow. I just love the look of stylized birds... I love that my grandfather made birdhouses almost everyday... I love the sounds I hear of the birds that live in the bushes on the side of our house... So I concepted this design. My mother created the custom bedding, I painted a 20x40 canvas and made the mobile, Andy re-did the electrical and all the hard labor in the room. Overall I'm so pleased and can't wait to show it to baby G2!
Keep checking here for updates and baby photos. Let's all hope she comes real soon!!!
